First and Last time to play this course - It is closed now
I kept hearing this course was closing and went out on the last day and played 9, never been there, had a great time but it was sad for sure. More homes coming and golf courses going away
Cattails no more
This was the last weekend the course was open before being developed into condos. It was in terrible condition, very dry, bird droppings piling up on all the greens, a mess. I think $25 for 9 holes was robbery knowing the course condition.
Horrible place
Worst course I’ve played in years. Weeds everywhere. Brutal conditions
Property has been sold
I’ve played here several times in the past, it’s always been a challenging, well kept, fun course. I heard from the pro shop that the property has been sold to a developer, this will be their last season. Unfortunately, this shows….the greens and tee boxes were in pretty rough shape. Only play if you get a really good deal on greens fees.
Corse condition
I usually play this corse a dozen times a year, right now I will not be returning for at least a month due to corse conditions. They were the worst I have ever seen.
Condition is Deteriorating
Price is decent (paid $58 for 18 w cart), but the conditions are extremely deteriorated from prior years. Bunkers are dirt and pebbles. Rough is not mowed. Greens are shaggy. You can tell it is close to closure and they are not putting the money in to keep it at a reasonable level. Unfortunately, likely won’t play it again this year (or ever since it is closing)
Victim
The course is on its way to being a just another housing development. Friday on a holiday weekend and not a maintenance crew insight. Greens were slow, not mowed. Fairways are ok. #12 green was covered with debris from trees. For the price it was worth it, but I do believe that Cattails is on its Last leg and they really don't care anymore. Wouldn't pay more than $35.
Great local track for price.
I play here regularly after work and this course is always a great time. The only issues I have are that the amount of goose poop on the greens can ruin all hopes of putting from time to time, and the ball marks left behind by some of the more careless groups have really started to add up. The layout is amazing and staff is friendly. 4/5
Still in good shape, unique layout
Good course, good challenge, only complaint this time is the greens were too slow, maybe it was an off day for cutting/rolling, but they were sticky and not in line with the usual standards
C-Ya!!
Course will be houses in a few weeks. Probably the last time I play it. A shame, great course.
Good value
Played this course as it was the best deal of the day. Course greens were fast, pin position made it difficult. Fairways were tight and in good shape. Carts were good but had the screens removed. Parking lot and clubhouse s in rough shape. Good course just to get out and play for the money
What happened to this golf course!
I was totally disappointed in the condition of the golf course. When I used to live here 20 years ago I use to play this course all the time and it was always in pristine condition. I don't know what happened here but the course is in terrible condition and some of the greens are un puttable. .The course has an awesome design and is very challenging. Position golf is required when playing here with a good array of shot selections. The facilities are also looking really run down. You guys got to get this club and course back in condition unless it's being sold for condos to be built which would be a shame.
Course in Decline
This used to be a very nice course. The layout is challenging. However, lots of dandelions throughout the rough, un raked sand traps, pock marked greens. No cart service (drinks), no starter, no one regulating pace of play. Course layout is difficult and price point was low which tends attract beginners (my opinion) and this combination of factors can result in slow play.
.
I would not go out of my way to play this course again
I would also like a refund! What a rundown dog track!
I made the mistake of trusting the four star rating, course description which included the previous held along with the higher priced greens fee. Upon arrival, it was clear that the course wasn’t gonna be maintained if the driveway couldn’t be maintained. The facilities were rundown with broken signs, overflowing trash cans (including at most tee boxes). The restroom smelled like dead fish, everything was dirty. And the staff, if you could find anybody, were definitely not welcoming. As far as the course there were no designations on the tee boxes and half of them were stripped for sod as if they were selling it on the side for extra money. I’ve seen dirt roads and better shape than the greens. This place was definitely not worth the $60 per round. I brought my son and daughter, which this is my daughter‘s second year golfing and even she complained about the course and the facilities. This is my very first review I’ve ever left for a golf course., needless to say we were all disappointed, I don’t know if this course is going bankrupt or changing hands, but whatever the case may be, I definitely do not recommend. The layout and the actual course does have great potential if it were taken care of, but it needs a lot of work and at this point they would have to pay me to come back.
Cattails…very poor condition
I would not recommend anyone to play this course unless you really don't care about course conditions. Many tee box's were used to cut out sod strips. Greens are filled with ball marks that people have not repaired . Rough cut is left very long. The course has been neglected and in desperate repair. Owners obviously do not care. Club house old and dingy. Outside patio area is atrocious. Timers are rotted, stairs are falling apart. Just save your money and go elsewhere .
No score card and dead cart.
I understand it’s early in the season, but you guys could at least make sure the stairs down to the dead carts won’t kill you. Also ya’ll could throw a scorecard in the carts if your person at the desk isn’t going to offer one.
