West at Tamarack Golf Course

I played with my son, I have played the course way before renovations and I am a Middlesex county resident. Sorry to say that I probably won’t play again any time soon. It was almost a 5hr round. I play Somerset county courses and rarely is it more that 4hrs. Sad because I enjoyed it.

Excellent course really nice layout no surprises all laid out in front of you. Wonderful track.

Course is in excellent shape from tee box to green.

Great variety of holes and views between the East & West courses good conditions great pace. Always agree to shoot a round here I personally prefer the West course.

My friend and I played the West course on 9/15/26. The course conditions were good, and we enjoyed the layout. The greens were firm (perhaps a little too firm as some were not too receptive). The rough was relatively high.

The only complaint we have is that we ended up behind a fivesome, and at one point they became a sixsome. A ranger came by on the eight tee box and we mentioned to him about the pace of play. On the 12th hole we noticed the fivesome had become a sixsome. I called the pro shop to complain , to no avail. The round ended up taking almost 4 and a half hours on a Tuesday at 11 am..

I would have provided a higher score but there is no reason to allow fivesomes and sixsomes!!!

West is currently is great shape. Tough undulating greens (stay below the hole), great layout. Playing the tips gives you long par 4’s and very challenging par 3’s. Nice facility overall. Great short game area tucked away by the East side 10th hole.

Pace of play was a little slow, it was a Friday all ok.

This course is a nice layout, fairways were in good shape, greens are starting to get a little beat up (lots of players not fixing ball marks) but still roll nicely. It is a county course so pace of play can be slow- but it’s a nice walk. No water out on the course or in the cooler by the starter.

Great course. Fun and clean. Well taken care of. We played the West course can’t wait to go back. We live in Monmouth county so we play a lot of courses here and the staff is always snotty. But that’s not the case here. Very friendly and helpful.
