Course was in good shape. Greens were in great shape
Poor Experience Overall
I’ve played it over four courses while living in Florida over the past eight years as well as many courses in New Jersey, California, Hawaii, and England and never had as bad of an experience as Bunker Hill.
For starters, I brought my significant other to the course with me as I have done many times for her to drive the cart, read her book, etc. (she is not a golfer). The course made me pay for her and cited liability issues, which fair I can understand but it’s still quite odd. The gentlemen took an additional ten minutes to add her onto the reservation. Not a problem at all, was not in a rush.
However, I’m not sure if the starter was having a bad day, but the starter was genuinely one of the worst individuals i’ve come in contact with in a while. From the moment I pulled up, he berated me with rude comments. One of which being how me “being late” was messing up his order. Mind you, I was on time and the check-in person delayed my start time.
But i ignored the comments. The starter went on to bumble under his breathe for 5 more minutes while two other groups teed off. I then politely asked if my being late, since it was just me golfing, if he wanted me to play ahead. To which he replied “oh god no, that’s a horrible idea”.
I’m a paying customer and have played at some of the nicest courses in the country and have never been spoken to that way. No offense, but for Bunker Hill in New Jersey I would get off your high horse and learn some common courtesy and manners.
2/10 would not recommend.
The course itself is fine, the greens were a bit slow due to the rain, and the holes aren’t really that long with only a handful of par 5s.
Anyone under the age of 40 shouldn’t play here, the elderly act like it’s Pebble Beach.
Course was goood
Summers aew usually not kind to bunker! But course was in great shape, 3 15 minute round at 640 am. For what they charge its a great value
Beautiful day
They were predicting late day thunder showers. It was beautiful out no one there … We teed off around 130 beautiful day. It was like 90° windy but a warm breeze. It was great played with two old guys. They kept walking around the greens when you’re trying to putt we didn’t say a word we had a good round. Enjoy the day. Greens were a little bumpy, but still a fun fun place to play
Proshop
A proshop personnel is consistently not friendly, biggest reason making this course not attractive
Average
The course is average but in great shape and some tough holes to navigate
Last Minute but Awesome Decision
Pulled together a foursome at the last minute and grabbed a tee time! Course looked great and the ladies tees were very forgiving - which we were thankful for on a hot day! Nice challenging holes and some that allowed us the privilege of pars and birdies! Will return for sure
Nice Course for the money
First time playing the course, it was in pretty good condition considering it has been 90 the last four days. Pace of play was no issue as we played in 4.5 hours. Course was challenging enough to keep interest but not too crazy. Would definitely play again in the future
Beautiful day
Tee boxes were OK. Fairways were nice greens look nice nice but very bumpy and furry. Very slow. Had a great day guys behind us hit up on us twice. We put an end to that!. The guy behind us actually hit a tree and bounce Ball in our cart. I told them please back off. We didn’t see them behind us the rest of the day they offered to buy his drinks in the restaurant, but there’s no liquor license there. Few groups later in the day we’re out there screaming and yelling I don’t know what for.?
Fun Course to Play
This is one of our favorite courses to play. It is just challenging enough to make it frustrating, but rewarding enough to make it fun. Stay on or near the fairways and the conditions are excellent. Greens are pristine, tee boxes are in good shape. New sand in the bunkers make them easier to hit out of. My only critique, pace of play was a little slow. Staff was very friendly. Will play again....hopefully soon.
