Forest Park Golf Course

The course was in good shape, some of the greens had a few bare patches , the need to keep or build a little snack shack at the 9-10 hole , it is a little pricey for 18 holes , it’s $20 cheaper then out on the Island , I play there cause it’s closer to my sons . Stills great place to play .

Club house has a good selection of snacks and drinks. If you ask nicely, they’ll also give you a bag of ice if needed. Pace of play was great, but on a busy day it can get slow. Leaves are falling, so try to hit them straight 😮‍💨

I play here quite a bit and have typically enjoyed it. I booked a tee time and was sent off solo only to run up on two group backup at hole 2. I finished 3 holes in 1 hour. Response from the clubhouse was that’s what happens after four days of rain.

Very challenging.

Only thing I can say why this isn’t a 5/5 is because someone new could get lost finding the start of the back 9. Outside of that it is a great course, started around 6:45 and was out by 8-8:30 am. Would have been faster if I really tried but I enjoyed the pace of play, didn’t feel like I was rushed nor like I was waiting a long time. If this is your home course, you know it’s a great but challenging due to the trees, course.

This course has certainly come a long way to being a great golfing experience. In spite of the high volume of playing traffic the course is in great shape. Definitely one of my favorites tracks in the 5 boroughs.

If you are accustomed to hitting hybrids out of the rough, don’t bother here. The rough is very thick.

The course is beautiful and it’s good for golfers at all levels. Well kept greens and fairways.

fine for the price and distance from the city. 17 identical holes outside of one par 3 that was slightly prettier than the others. as usual with public courses, they stack 6 groups on a hole, we waited for 30 minutes to tee off the fourth hole. back 9 was a bit clearer but when we got back to the clubhouse the grill was open yet refused to make a few hot dogs because they were “almost” closed. dude, just make the hot dog, you’re literally open and we just got done sweating for 5 hours. absolutely ridiculous.
