Aeration
The weather was good so many golfers were out, and a 1 pm start, so 14 holes by sunset. The grees were still showing signs of aeration, this course is known for tough greens
Nice course in Brooklyn
Good course with nice practice facilities. Good value. Course conditions and cart paths need a lot of with
Spare Time
Was stuck in traffic and thought it a good idea to kill time by playing a round. The lady in the pro shop wasn't very friendly, but the starter was. He arranged for me to get-out with in 30 minutes with two other players who had tee times. One player was running late, so we waited until she showed up and then they skirted off without me. So instead of teeing off at 2:30 we now were assigned a 3pm start. This wasn't too bad, however because of the slow pace of play, it took 2 1/2 hours to get nine holes in.
There were three groups on the 10th tee and another 2 1/2 hours or maybe 3 hours to finish the round would mean we would not complete the final nine hole before sunset. After waiting the other player in my group thought of replaying the front nine, but since this was my first time here I wanted to see the back nine. Instead of playing more I went to the pro shop to ask for a rain check for nine holes. I explained the slow play mentioning we wouldn't complete the round before sunset and was denied a rain check or a refund. I then said I should have been charge a twilight rate.. I went back to the starter, but he was no where to be found to see if he would do something. I finally gave up. It was a nice course in layout, with quick greens and scenic views of Manhattan. But not being able to play the whole course in a reasonable pace left me with bad feelings.
Greens, fairways and tee box were in good condition. Pace of play is a little slow, need the starter to drive out and push people a little. Overall this is the best city course around
After work round
Greens were messed up with someone else wearing spikes. Leaving marks all over the greens.
Excellent condition
The golf course greens and fairways were in excellent condition. Pace of play was okay but not great, as we had to wait to tee-off at every hole, which resulted in a 5 hour round.
Top notch city layout
Loved this course. It’s got legit length for a city course. Plenty of opportunities to hit driver if you choose to. It’s a links-type course, and there are some nice water views. Lots of fun
links golf
A 200 yd range, big pratice. chip and put green. The wide fairways, fescue mounds tricky greens, by the bay.
Beautiful day.
My son and I hooked up with young guys from the UK and Australia. Weather was lovely. We did Twilight and managed to get in 16 holes.
Best Public Course in NYC
Time and time again, this place delivers as the best public course in the city. Not too short, not too long, holes are challenging but not impossible, and there are no BS aerated greens, awful tee-box conditions, or ruined fairways.
This place is much better than:
Dyker, Van Cortland, any Queens Course,
