Golf Advisor's Top 25 Courses in Florida in 2014

The golfing public has spoken. Based on your ratings and reviews submitted in 2014, we've compiled the top 25 golf courses in Florida.

We received more than 30,000 reviews in Florida by Golf Advisor raters. More than 400 golf courses qualified by receiving more than 20 reviews in the calendar year. Courses were ranked based on their average overall rating from reviews throughout the year.

Checking in at no. 1 is The Hideaway Country Club in Fort Myers. A private club, the course offers seasonal public access, and those who have had the chance to play it are clearly smitten.

"I don't think I've played on a course with better fairways and greens for the price," JJarrett1955 wrote. "And that includes courses like Old Corkscrew, Stoneybrook and The Raptor."

It was a dominant performance in 2014 for Hideaway, scoring highest in-state in four of the five subcategories: conditions, value, pace of play, and food & beverage.

Venetian Golf & River Club managed to upset them in the "condition of the overall facility" category.

The southwest side of Florida had plenty more entries into the top 25, including Old Orange at Verandah Golf Club, checking in at no. 3. All of the courses that made the list scored higher than a 4.5/5.0.

But entries span from Orlando to the panhandle and the Jacksonville area, so there's likely a top-rated course wherever you may be in the state.

These are based on ratings by golfers on Golf Advisor, and these are all public courses or at the very least private courses that offer some public play.

The "Creek" at Hammock Dunes should have easily made the Top 25 (Palm Coast)

Brandon - I am shcoked that Long Mean Course at Fiddlesticks Country Club is not high on your list. Raises some credibility questions also that Old Corkscrew is #7? Try Fiddlesticks sometime soon then write about it! www.fiddlestickscc.com
