Excellent Public Course
Greens are well kept and fast. Overall nice layout for a 9 hole course and in real nice condition.
They will pair you up
Starter paired us up with another twosome. Said it was the be rules if you book online. They were also late. We were on the 1st tee box when the starter pulled up and said he was sending 2 guys down that we would have to play with. They guys were cool but not the point. Doesn’t say that anywhere when you book online. We almost left and asked for a refund.
5/20/24
It was my 65th birthday and my wife and I played the course.
We love it there. We have been past members of several country clubs and it has that country club feel. Especially with views of the North Course at Firestone.
Course in great shape and I know most courses in the area are having trouble keeping up with mowing with all the rain we have had.
Food was good at lunch. Friendly staff. It was an excellent experience over all and with the few extra bucks from some of the other local courses.
Great Course
My boys and I had a great time. The course was in great shape and the rough was tough!
Only critique I have is the pin placements were in really crazy spots.
As always here - had a really good time.
Great public course
We had a blast. The course is always in excellent condition. I’ve belonged to many private country clubs and the Firestone 9 can hold its own. Great shape!!!
Great Course Terrible Logistics
Golfed there 5 times in 2023-24. Each time the staff is deer in the headlights with no basic organization skills. They have a golf course but act like they are inconvienced when people show up.
Firestone’s public course is good fun for all
One could be forgiven for writing Firestone’s inexpensive, public-facing 9-holer off as an afterthought, but it is a pleasant spot for locals and an underrated amenity for members and stay-and-play guests. Located at the very northern edge of the property, it’s by far the least punishing golf on property, with a refreshingly quirky run of par 4s from hole 4 through hole 8. The 7th hole is relatively short on the card but plays about 70 feet uphill and jukes right at a large tree, culminating with a skyline green. In similarly pristine shape as the club’s three main courses, the “Firestone 9” is a lovely diversion that pairs well with a beer or two.
(ALSO: Firestone 9 is home to an outpost of Big Shots Golf, a worthy competitor to Topgolf and other “golfertainment” options. Firestone 9 visitors warm up on Big Shots’ range.
Expensive
My dad has been playing this course for 20 years. It was my first time playing this course. I loved the course as it was very unique compared to other courses in the area. The condition of the course is exceptional for this area too. But, $40 for a nine hole course is expensive. For me, it’s probably a one time a year course. $40 is too much even for how nice it is.
Overpriced!
This course used to be a gem to play. Don’t get me wrong, the condition has always been impeccable, and the pace of play usually is ok. However, $35+ to play nine holes is outrageous. This is nearly a par 3/4 course. I used to play this all the time for around $20 at the most. But now that the golf is a side show to Big Shots (knockoff Top Golf), they have jacked the pricing too high to justify playing there.
