J. E. Good Park Golf Course

The venerable old Good Park. It’s been around since the early 20th century and it’s showing its age. To my understanding this course gets a high amount of rounds per year and that’s evident in the conditions. As advertised it has a plethora of old growth trees and narrow fairways. It is forgiving of the errant shot in spite of tree lined fairways. To be fair the fairways were in decent shape and the front nine rough was respectable. Most of the greens were well manicured. A few had bald spots with no grass at all. Unfortunately the back nine rough was bordering on cow pasture territory. Very little actual grass with a lot of dry hard barren ground. The rough that was there was clover and crab-grass. It was certainly a good value at 22.00 for 18 and a cart so my expectations were tempered. Will I play here again? Sure. Just set your expectations accordingly.

It’s been years since I played Good Park And while the layout is still challenging and very well designed condition of the course was disappointing.

Drought conditions No doubt contributed to many bare spots on the greens And the hardness of fairways and boxes.

A better irrigation system would a good choice for improvements

Greens roll true. Sand traps are excellent. Fairways great condition

Lots of trees and dog legs. A must play!

We played on a holiday which means it was busy. It decided to rain on hole 8 and 9 but the back nine played well even after the rain.

Always been happy with Good Park. Great service for concessions. Hit my first Ace on hole 9. 192 out. Buying drinks didn’t break the bank.

Love Good Park. The definition of tree lined. Unappreciated course in the middle of Akron, Oh. Tests every shot in your bag and will have you screaming for momma. No water hazards and O.B would require an absolute joke of a shot. I’ve played here for 20 years and the greens are the best they’ve ever been. The greens fee is the cherry on top!

Always a good time at park. A mature golf course with plenty of trees to keep it challenging. The holes have a lot of variety to them.

Def a decent course and worth getting a quick round in. I played 9 in less than 1 hour 45 on a Friday afternoon.

Ive been playing goodpark since the late 90s.....city of Akron always keeps this place pristine....hats off

Good Park is a great course in the Akron area. Not the prettiest layout, but no terrible holes. Easy to get into trouble, but can be easy to score on. The course has been in great condition for a few years. Greens are fast, but receptive. Plus, usually some of the best pricing in the area to play a good+ golf course. Wish they had a driving range or hitting mats and a net. Would be nice to warm up a bit before trying to tee off on #1 or #10. Terrifying... LOL!

Played on early Sunday morning. Course pace of play was good. Greens and Fairways in excellent condition. Rough was rough, easy to lose a ball anywhere in the thick tall rough. Would definitely recommend and go back again.

A great, classic and challenging golf course. It is an excellent shape. Everyone is friendly. It is a Great Course to walk. I really appreciate that. They have very early morning teetimes.
