Great course after a hard rain
We had two inches of rain the night before my tee time Turkeyfoot drains well the shape of the place was amazing. I have played this course before but it is always in great shape and will test your skills.
First round of the year
Turkey foot was in unbelievable condition for April 10. Fairways and sand traps were perfect. The greens were a little bumpy but extremely quick for this time of year. It is always one of the best maintained courses in northeast Ohio.
nice and dry course
Recently we've had snow and rain but this course wasn't muddy or a mess at all! It was well maintained and clean of debris. It was a little slower play but that's what you get when you get a 70 degree weather day in April. Greens were really fast!
This course manicured beautifully
Quick and easy, no muss no fuss
Great Fall Golf
Been about two years since I had played Turkeyfoot. Course was in great shape, fairways were good and clear of leaves, greens were very fast and true, only downside is that about half of the holes were using temporary tees. Understandable as they were letting the regular tees grow back in, just made some of the holes much shorter than stated.
review course
Greens were in great shape as were the fairways which isn't always the case this time of year. Fun layout
quality guy seeks same
Interesting course 6200 yards from the tips with 5 very long par 5s, must play several times to understand lay ups on many short par 4s, very good condition considering the summer in Cleveland, fairways outstanding, greens pretty good, best Ive seen since the heat wave and drought. I recommend the course but figure to come back a 2nd or third time to shoot your average
Fantastic Course
Turkeyfoot Lakes is always in wonderful shape with outstanding greens. Looks like an easy little track, however, you better bring your A-Game and hit multiple clubs off the tee...
Rude
When they found out that I use GolfNow they weren't very friendly
We're really disappointed to receive your review. We hold our staff to a high standard in customer service and truly apologize you felt less than welcome. Your feedback will be reviewed with each member of the staff.
Bill from Akron
Turkey foot is nice course unfortunately it is notorious for allowing fivesomes and sixsomes out creating an extremely slow round. They cater to the locals and the rangers are worthless. A nice track I would not recommend this course to anyone wanting to play a four hour round on the weekend. Staff was aware of the slow play and acknowledged the fivesome spraying the ball were regulars. Thanks for the 6 hour round, never again.
Bill, we appreciate your feedback and we thank you for sharing that we have a nice course.
We apologize that the pace was not up to your standards, but there is no chance of a 4 hour round on the weekend at nearly any course. We have allowed larger 5-somes on busy days because the pace is slower for all, and even those groups will end up waiting as well. We hope you’ll give us another chance in the future.
GREENS
THESE GREENS ARE THE BEST GREENS I HAVE PLAYED ON ALL YEAR IN OHIO. BETTER THAN MANY PRIVATE CLUBS. OVERALL CONDITION OF COURSE IS COUNTRY CLUB QUALITY. CONSIDERING THE SEVERE DROUGHT WE ARE EXPERIENCING COURSE WAS MUCH BETTER THAN I WAS EXPECTING.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this fantastic review -- it is SO appreciated! We take great pride in the quality of our greens, and can't thank you enough for sharing your experience. We hope to have you back out very soon!
Turkeyfoot July 4th
The course and layout are great at Turkeyfoot. Each hole is a different test. Very tight on some or wide open on others. Greens were fast and rolled true. The staff is mehh. Clubhouse is mehh. Overall I love Turkeyfoot and will always come back.
Thank you for the great review of the course, we work hard to maintain conditions and are glad to hear you enjoy it! We're sorry to hear you haven't had great experience with staff -- we hold each staff member to a very high level of customer service, please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your experience more enjoyable in the future. Thank you again.
Liked the course but hated the greens
The greens keeper must have been having a bad day. Almost every pin was in a very difficult position, many about 10 feet from the fringe and several right on the top of a ridge. The greens were very hard and fairly fast. So it was next to impossible to stop the ball on the greens, much less close to the pin. Even wedges left no ball marks on the green. I had nine 3 putts and my buddy had about the same. Will not play again.
Craig
Very long and nice course to play!
Thank you for taking the time to share your review, Craig! We'd love to know how we can make your experience even better and get that 5 stars :) Hope to have you back again soon!
Worth the drive
The golf course is maintain very well. Great scenic views. Its worth the drive, price cheap for a great course.
Thanks for taking the time to review our course, Benny. We work hard to maintain the course to show off those beautiful views. Hope to have you back again!
Go South
This course is worth the trip, conditions on par with the best in Cleveland. Even though a shorter course (6400 from the tips) still use almost every club. Probably the toughest greens in Northeast Ohio. Super fast and roll true, just don't be above the hole.
Thank you for the great review! Turkeyfoot can definitely be a fun challenge, we're glad to hear you enjoyed it! Hope to have you back out again this season!
Nice course with elevation changes
Must be a Sand based course, because after the rain we had, the course was very dry we were able to take carts out.
I would play it again
We are the driest course in the area and will always do carts out when every other course does walk or path only. Thanks for taking the time to share your review!
SLOW PACE OF PLAY
They have tee times, a starter, but he put a twosome out in the middle of foursomes, then but a foursome out , then another twosome. No ranger to speed players up, Too long of a round.
Staff is very friendly
We played at 5pm on Sunday and found the course to be in good condition and the staff friendly and helpful. One of the staff even helped my daughter unload the clubs into our car while I made a pit stop at the clubhouse. The clubhouse is older but is kept clean. The course would be in better shape if the golfers would take the time to repair divots and ball marks. The only drawback is the 18th hole runs along a busy road which can be distracting to a new golfer such as myself. I look forward to playing at Turkeyfoot again in the future.
This coarse was in great condition
The coarse was in great condition, the staff were friendly, and I was impressed with the layout.
Thanks for sharing! We really appreciate you taking the time to review the course. We work hard to keep it in great shape -- hope to see you back out soon!
