About
Shawnee Hills is home to two different golf courses, an 18-hole regulation course and a nine-hole, par-3 layout. The 18-hole course has a front nine that plays across gently rolling hills accented with water hazards while the back nine presents a different set of challenges with more dramatic hills covered with forests of mature pines, maples, and oaks. The scenic Deer Lick Creek also runs alongside the back holes. The second half of the golf course definitely has more of a Carolina-feel to it while the front nine is more like a Florida course. The back is a bit tougher than the first half of the course, but wide fairways throughout make it a fairly forgiving layout overall, though the golf course boasts what may be the toughest hole in the Cleveland Metroparks, the par-4 fourth. This dogleg left hole plays uphill and demands accuracy with a line of trees on either side.

Horrible Experience
If you like a SHORT DOG TRACK.... With no PAVED cart paths and UNFRIENDLY STAFF then this is the place for you.
My “back” gave out on the 8th hole and had to sadly not finish my round. But I had paid for 18 holes. So I proceed to hit the clubhouse where I thought a 9 hole rain check would easily be obtained. 1st I’m told I can’t be served without a MASK. Didn’t need a MASK when I paid them for 18 holes of Golf (IRONIC). Lady said I could only get a rain check for 9 holes if it was RAINING.
JUST BAD BUSINESS IN MY OPINION.

Nice metro park course
Good condition, greens rolled, nice and fast, decent hot deal the fees for the metro parks courses are stupid dumb.
They need a ranger
The course was in nice shape. I was paired up with another person and we both had an enjoyable round. This is the second time in a row that the round took way too long to play because of a group two in front of us that was not keeping pace. I tried calling in to the clubhouse and after 20 minutes trying to get someone to pick up the phone, I relayed my concerns to them and asked that they send a ranger to get the group to play faster. They said they would mention it to the starter, which does no good since they never sent anyone out.
Played 18 on a Saturday afternoon
Pace of play was great, had starters for the front & back 9 keeping tabs as well as a drink cart we saw several times. Course was in good shape some brown spots in the rough & a few tee boxes torn up. On Metroparks courses a consistent frustration is divots on the green- not nearly as bad here.
Typical
Good middle of the road course. Overpriced when compared with other options in the area. Being a metroparks course they have plenty of $$$ to keep courses in nice shape, but they are starting to over charge for all their courses.
Very playable
I was quite surprized when i pulled up everything was in great condition not what i am used to when thinking of a city course. The front nine lay out is very playable for any skill level. The back is a little tighter and demands well placed shots. Greens are spectacular.
Well done to all the grounds crew.

Great day with little crowds
Today was great! Staff was friendly, the cart was sanitized and the course was spaced out perfectly.
Backyard Gem
I live in Bedford and having Shawnee in my backyard is great. They are accommodating to single players when they can. The staff is friendly and the course layout is challenging for both hackers like me and lower handicappers. The only change I would make us to switch to grass practice tee boxes rather than pads. The back nine has more hills if you are a walker but the fairways are a bit wider. The front nine has some tight fairways but not like others I have played.
