Par 3 at Shawnee Hills Golf Course

Got a late start for our 6:50 AM tee time due to frost. Staff handled the situation well and everyone was good humored about it. Greens were being rolled just out ahead of us, so they were excellent. Shawnee is a fun and interesting layout, fairways were cut to a perfect length. Rough was difficult but fair. by the 6th hole the weather had become fantastic for an overall enjoyable round

I had a tee time scheduled for 7:30am. We didn’t get to tee off until 7:50 because according to the starter, someone that works for the golf course booked 18 hole tee times going off the back nine the night before. I believe the starter decided that those 2 groups would not get to tee off the back and instead put them in front of the 7:20 group, meaning 2 groups were sandwiched in between the 7:10 & 7:20 groups. It didn’t help that those 2 groups had very limited ability, to say it nicely. It’s a public course, so it’s understandable that that’s going to happen. However, a ranger should have been on the course (I asked for this to happen at the turn) to make sure pace of play was maintained. My friend & I were paired up with 2 others. Due to pace of play and having to get somewhere by 12:40 (which shouldn’t be a problem when teeing off at 7:30) they walked off after 13. My friend and I left after 16 for the same reason. The very reason we traditionally tee off as early as we do is to play at a proficient pace. If we would’ve played the last 2 holes, it would’ve been a 5 HOUR ROUND. This is completely unacceptable with a 7:30am scheduled tee time. Very disappointed

Great shape, especially for the time of year. Would be nice if you could take the cart to get your bags in the lot. Also, the hold plaques are nowhere near the cart path when you pull up to the tee box.

Was a cold day with light rain/mist throughout the day. Course was pretty empty due to weather. First 9 were pretty straight forward. Back nine more interesting. But over all really beautiful as this is nestled in the Bedford reservation. Course is in great shape. Really enjoyed my day and would highly recommend.

There is nothing to review, all aspects of the day was exellent.

Fun course with great layout, players in front that were comically slow did not offer to pass, but the course staff isn’t at fault for this.

This course was crowded since it was 70 degrees in March. Groups were full but kept the pace pretty well. The biggest problem was the greens had just been aerated, so there were alot of bumps and sand. So greens were very slow. Wind was quite brutal, so the greens were very fast with the wind. So trying to figure the greens eas tricky.

Was great to get out in late March to start the season but we ran into a wet and cold day, making conditions tough.

Overall enjoy the course layout and complexity of some holes.

Pace of play was not an issue as we finished 18 holes in a little over 3 hours with a 2some. There was no one in front of us or behind us due to the weather.

Overall, I would recommend.

Friendly staff . greens were just airiated so they were not great. If my partner would have showed up on time we wouldn't have got stuck behind slow players . that's why the pace was slow . still love the course but the prices could be better .

Course was in great shape for this time of year. I admittedly expected that, but only because the staff at Shawnee always does a great job. A treat to be golfing in NE Ohio after Thanksgiving!

Every golf club in your bag will be used at some point on this both challenging and enjoyable golf course.
