Somewhat challenging
Course is flat and relatively wide but plays bit long. Need to drive the tee shot well to have a decent shot to the green since there are many large trees guarding them. The fairways were in not in good condition and wish they would pave the parking lot. Got a great deal through Golfnow but would hesitate to pay over $50
Slow round, decent layout
They really need to do a better job spacing out the golfers. Both times I've played there this year the round ended being stuck in a traffic jam of golfers. The starters should not allow people to T-off on the back 9 and front 9 at the same time. They constantly do this, which eventually creates a problem.
It's fine
It's an OK course....it had been recently aerated, so the greens were very inconsistent on the speeds, etc. Layout if fine, nothing spectacular. Not sure the price was appropriate for the course though. If it was a $40-$50 round, fine.....$75 was too much for this place.
The course is layed out real nice..great par 3's some water narrow and wide fairways..
I booked thru golf now and only paid 22.00 bucks with the cart now that's a great price...this was the second time playing this course for that great price...I don't think that it's worth fifty dollars both times I went the pace of play was Terrible and had to play the front nine twice which I hate doing....the course and the starters were pretty nice and helpful...if I paid fifty dollars and had this happen I would never go back but for 22.00 bucks I can't complain...so thank you GOLF NOW..
A day at wmerson
Decent course
Overpriced for the condition
As so many others have written, staff not welcoming or friendly.
Starter sends you off with an attitude
Very Nice......
I was pleasantly surprised at the overall experience at Emerson Golf Club. The course was a very good shape and played very long. Fairly open, but a true test of your long game.
Emerson
Good course. Greens need some work. Par 4 play long. Sometimes maintenance done at the wrong times.
Very rude
this is the second time in a row that the starter was rude and shirt with us to basically rush us off the course. The give you business about bringing outside beverages but there is no one selling anything for the golfers. The only reason to play there is because you can get on relatively easy and also decent cost through golf now. Other than that, the course isn't kept great and the staff not friendly at all.
Horrible
This course is horrible, plain and simple. 30 Min wait to Tee off, 4 holes were under water, the greens were in terrible shape ex. A lot of divots and runs super slow, no sand in the bunkers it was actually dried dirt. Also waiting at every hole, the staff was horrible. It was not worth the $80 per person. To say the least I will never play here again, not even for a free round.
Slow pace of play
We have been playing Emerson for years and have enjoyed the challenging and long par 4s, and quick pace of play which was usually 4.5 hours, but recently, the slow pace of play and lack of ranger supervision, has ruined a good and convenient value. Something needs to be done or this course will continue to lose real golfers.
Unfortunate Demise of a Cool Course
Played this track a bunch of times over the past few years and didn't really mind the steep cost ($80) because you can't get a City course weekend round in under 6 hours - I see the madness has extended over to Emerson and after this weekend sadly, I'm removing them from my list of remotely playable courses.
Had a nice early 7:48 tee time, arrived early, hit some balls on the range and was ready to play on time - didn't get to tee off until almost 8:10.
That was followed by waiting on literally every single shot - even after my foursome somewhat mangled one of the par threes!!!
Left the course at 11:45 after only completing ten holes - for that kind of pace, I could've (make that should've) played in Brooklyn.
The unfortunate part is that I really like this track - interesting holes that challenge your game and a cool layout - the starters and rangers remember you and are pretty cool but this new management is terrible - the pro shop guy is an unfriendly, lifeless zombie with an annoying "too cool to be bothered" aloofness.
These guys should learn that for $80, anybody from the City can just head the other direction, skip a toll and play out in Long Island - and get home in time to watch the game (or do housework...)
Done with this place.
Too slow
It was Saturday morning, we booked 8:24., but actual starting was around 9:00am. There was long line before tee shot, and we had to wait every single time we made a shot in every course. It took 5-6 hours for 18 holes. Management people should learn betther play time handling.
Overall course conditions were pretty good.
Pace of play......
Played the course many times. Not in bad shape for a public course. Greens were slow but plush and green. Pace of play is problematic. Tee times was 7:21. Didn't tee off until 7:40. Finished 18 holes in over 5 hours!!!
This course was pretty descent
I played with my sister on a weekday, the condition for tee box, fairway and green were very good whole lot better than last year. It wasn't crowd. My front was 2 some and my behind was 2 some with good pace. I will go play again and I definitely recommend to my friends and golf players
Couldn't play- and will Def not return
So I called the course 24hrs advance as GN states to do for cancels, mentioned not only would I like to call Bc weather next day looked dark but also because my friend may have to back out for personal reasons. The guy tells me "you can wait till tomoro to call up until the morning (for a noon tee off)" and went on to say, GolfNow will only charge u of the course calls them to tell them to (either no-show, or when you go to play). SO, the next am, sure enough my friend wasn't able to play so I called and a new guy answers and tells me there's "nothing he can do" for me and that thy will charge me 110$ for not showing.. SO, not only did I not get to play, Emerson (not that they care) can be assured I will NEVER go there.. So congrats on capturing 110$ rather than me returning and Limey playing multiple times if the course is any good. Smart business there!
Too slow for an evening round
A bit too slow for me. Course was challenging though. Some long par 4's which were fun.
Price
The course wasn't terrible, however, for 80$ it was not worth it. And 80$ was a deal? Is that a joke? County courses are much better than this and half the price. Very dissapointed. I will not return to this golf course. For another 20$ I can play at a country club.
Emerson club
Booked thru golf now
Good value
Course was very challenging, first time playing course
Ball position important for approach shot into green
Greens were immaculate - kudos to greens keeper
Cart paths need work- my kidneys took a beating
Emerson good golf would gladley play again
Course in Gpood Shape played in 4 Hrs 20 Minutes lots of bunkers would gladley play this course again. Long par 4s greens played well
Worst course
They don't know how to greet a customer.. Manager is even worst... Pro shop is so dusty and looks like going out of business.. Never again----
