About
Bedford Trails Golf Course is situated just east of Youngstown in Coitsville. The course is one of northeastern Ohio's hidden gems. The modest 6,340-yard layout is seemingly easy but don't underestimate the punch that this course packs. What it may lack in length, the course certainly makes up for with other challenges. You accuracy will be tested with the tight fairways lined with mature trees. Even seasoned players will want to have extra balls handy. Though they are relatively flat, the small size of the greens is what will be the tricky part. Pin placement is the key. Bedford Trails Golf Course isn't exceedingly difficult, but you'll want to strategize each hole carefully. It's a challenging but fun round with affordable green fees that any skill level can appreciate.

Best day ever
Great course. The staff there are great, friendly, and want to know when your coming back..I had one of my best rounds ever. Plus a great meal there after our round. They make the check in so easy.
Good for the money
It’s not a bad lay out. Straight forward for the most part. Plenty of timber outside of some fairly wide fairways. Rough was fair. Greens rolled better than they looked. Other than the Golfnow app booking 4 guys on the same time, it was well worth the money and the drive! The ranger is a nice guy. He didn’t know the course record but I doubt my 69 touched it. Pretty easy track

course conditions
The fairways and greens were great. Especially with all the rain we have had. Some standing water in the ruffs but not terrible. The staff has done a great job keeping the course playable.
Weather conditions not withstanding!
The course absorbed copious amounts of water prior to our visit. The staff did not give us a heads up before our arrival or even after our arrival when we checked in. ( 2 other course this week did call me thank you Pleasant Valley CC & Butler’s GC) 80% of our lies we experienced standing water and we were forced to lift clean, and search for dry ground then place.
Greens on the front were very small but had to be very slow due to exaggerated back to front slopes.
The back 9 saw the greens enlarged and level out but the speed was still very slow.
As for the lay out we played the tips and the course forces you to hit straight as it is very tight due to tree lined fairways. Even with the wet conditions we did not need to pull out the driver more then two times all day.
Expect to play your long irons or rescue clubs all day off the tee. The small greens are hard to hit but chipping after lift clean and placing into an ultra slow green made for easy up and downs today.
The best part of the course are there par threes. The worst part is the frustration of missing small greens with good shots.

I felt bad for the staff that was extremely shirt staffed...the did their best...poor management

Quality
I’m going to give this course 5 stars. Most critics might not, but for April and the rain we just had this course was in great shape. Greens were magnificent, the staff was super friendly and the pace of play was perfect. I’ll definitely be back for this price!!
Terrible course conditions
Management seems to be more interested in the bar and restaurant than the course conditions.
Terrible fairways and tee boxes.
No drainage. Hard clay that holds water on top of surfaces. Leaves that seem to be over a year old, and groundskeepers to busy flirting with ladies at the bar rather than addressing issues mentioned above.
Not good.

Tree lined fairways
Well layed out course. Must Hit straight or you will be under trees all day long. I have golfed here a few times but for some reason we had to wait on every tee box today. Definitely need a ranger would have made a difference. Almost 5 hours for the round should never happen anywhere.
Cheap and choppy
Early in the year but leaves galore. Choppy greens. Fairly dry however. Not a super challenging course but it is tight. Can’t beat the price though.

Decent Price for the quality
The Greens at Bedford are really nice but the fairways and tee boxes suffer from the course being a true 5 star rating, staff is very friendly and the price for the course is fair overall I was pleased with the experience
Will play again
Front nine was super slow play, followed a morning league and took 2:45 minutes. Back nine was wide open and played it in just 90 minutes. If the course was as nice as the staff, this place would be packed everyday for sure. Not going to complain about high grass because no one can keep up this time of year around here, but to say the greens were slow is an understatement! Will definitely give it another look when the grass slows down a bit. Course does not play long, so a few different shots are required.
Nice Play
Not the best course (Feb so greens not the best but will play later in year) but price was nice and employees and owner were great! Had good time winding down in bar. Food good as well, for a bunch of Pennsyvanians!!
Fun course!
Very friendly staff in the clubhouse. They always treat you good. Greens were in great shape,rest of course very dry. Lots of roll. Not many leaves to contend with. Enjoyed the round!

No problems at all except for slow play on the front nine. Need to watch for Thursday morning tee times as there is a senior league teeing off then.

no ranger to monitor slow players. starter woman very unfriendly and uncooperative. made my partner and me wait for a threesome at the turn while they ate their hot dogs and drinks. wrong wrong wrong waited for the slow threesome for every shot the last 9 holes.
Good challenge-tight fairways on several holes
Always enjoy playing here. this was my 4th time.
Staff was friendly and speed of play was very good.
