Pace of Play Problem
Pace of play on front nine was great. Making the turn, twosomes and a very slow foursome appeared ahead of us. We speculated that some of these players were only playing nine and were sent out on the back nine -- not good, if that was the case. .Whatever the reason, the pace of play was very slow and destroyed our enjoyment of the back nine. Otherwise, good course and good price.
Deceptive
This course may seem flat, but it is deceptive. There are doglegs require you to know your yardages, and even on 400 yard holes, driver may not be the best choice. Also, mostly on the front nine, there are many lakes that lie flat with the land and cannot be seen from the tee. The greens were on the slower side, but held well and rolled true. They could put devilish pins out here if they chose, but the greens keeper must realize this is not a tour course and keeps the pins fair. The worst thing I can say is some holes the rough may be a bit patchy with some ruts, and there were some low areas that were roped off and unmowed, but we've had a very wet spring.
Other notes: #10 is only about 270-280 even though scorecard says 310. Lots of lakes mean lots of geese. Food takes some time at the turn.
Better hit them straight.
course was in good shape for this time of year. layout uses water and traps to raise the difficulty. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were in shape. The rough was brutal.
NICE PLACE TO PLAY FOR THE MONEY
CONSIDERING THE DROUGHT WE HAVE BEEN IN, THE COURSE WAS IN GOOD SHAPE. TEE BOXES AND GREENS WERE EXCELLENT. THE YOUNG LADY WHO WAS IN CHARGE THE DAY WE WERE THERE WAS EXCEPTIONALLY NICE AND ACCOMIDATING. I PLAY HERE FAIRLY OFTEN ( 2-4 TIMES PER YEAR) AND HAVE NEVER BEEN DISSAPOINTED IN ANY WAY.
Sneaky
This is a course you need to play a few times to get the feel of. The greens were very fast and mounded, and some holes have pretty drastic doglegs that you need to know how far to hit the ball off the tee to get around the corner. There was an outing going on, so they seemed a little understaffed for a Saturday morning, but they took care of us with no hassle, so the politeness more than made up for the wait. The only real issue is that it seemed some yardage markers were off, so bring a gps. There were a few times I was next to the 150 stake and flew a 9-iron over the back.
My home course
It was a great day & my friend & I enjoyed the round.I improved on this round over the last. The course was in good condition.
need of a course Ranger
a foresome in front of us was so slow ( they played to balls each) that we called clubhouse to complain, we were told that it would be addressed but no one came the slow forsomeout to address the problem.we asked the forsome if we could play through, but was told no, so we skipped that hole and went to the next hole, played only 17 holes.
when finished play the slow forsome was 4 holes back. Point is that starter didn't care nor did the counter person. i'll go back again and if no ranger on patrol it will be the last time. If you come golf play golf, if you want to pratice use the driving that's on site not the Golf course. the golf course is in great shape.
Nice place to play
good layout lots of water greens in great shape I will return
Nice Facility without any Food or Beverage
Course was in great shape for the lack of any recent rain, and everything was nicely manicured. Currently there is no operators for the food and beverage portion of the clubhouse, be aware when planning any type of outing.
Great course for the price
My son and I played here for the first time and really liked the course. I have only played two courses in this area (live out of state), and he has only played a few, but both agreed this is best so far. Course on good shape, pretty challenging with some sand & water and LOTS of mature trees line most holes. Hit it straight or you're likely in trouble on most holes, but still liked it a lot. Will definitely be back!
Great deal
Had a great afternoon of golf. Will be playing there again soon.
Average course
Anyone who has golfed here when it was called Deer Track will appreciate the renovations done to the course. It's a pretty flat course, but it does have a considerable amount of sand bunkers, water, and trees to make it a challenge. It's a fairly easy course with the exception of two difficult holes. The course was in good shape considering it's still early in the season. The greens still need some work, but everything is very playable. It's a good golf course, but nothing to rave about.
horrible conditions at staff
Paid for hot deal with cart about hour before tee time. Showed up at course and they said no carts. Decided to walk as I thought the course would be nice, however, it was horrible. Tee boxes were uneven, fairways were burned out and the greens were worse than the rough I normally play. Even though I paid $12.50 for a hot deal, it was still not worth it. Worst course in northeast ohio hands down!!!
Good course
Course was in good shape I had a very good time. played as expected and pace was very good.
This course is OK
We were a twosome and caught up to a group playing with 5 golfers that had a radio blasting in their cart. Also I now know why it is called Dragon Ranch. The mosquitoes are so big you can see them flying in the distance. With the slow play we got chewed up good.. Will not return this season.
This is a fairly easy course usually in great conditions
Today the course wasn't in great shape so i am going to rate this course from previous experiences this year. I love playing this course the courses are usually well maintained love the course design and especially the island par 3 on hole #8. I am so glad that dragon ranch is added onto golfnow.
