Grey Hawk Golf Club

About
Grey Hawk Golf Club is a challenging but playable course that is a Cleveland area favorite. It brings resort-quality golf to a remote location in LaGrange that is seemingly in the middle of nowhere. The rolling landscape is the ideal terrain for links-style golf. The course demands accuracy with lightning fast greens surrounded by bunkers and be sure not to stray from the fairways or you'll almost definitely be left with an uneven lie. Unlike a typical links golf course, there are water hazards coming into play on several holes on this layout. The 11th hole features a tricky island green while the third hole has an equally challenging "island green" that is surrounded by sand. Grey Hawk Golf Club is a formidable but fair test with interesting and diverse hole designs.

Relentless
Simply put this course a top 5 course , for any metric a course can meet . This is one of 3 courses that I go to , when I want to test my game or see if I'm shooting as good as I think I am at easier courses.
Slow play mid week!
Course was in good shape, few weird spots on greens but with the humidity this year every course has some funk going on. Group in front of us caused one of the slowest rounds I’ve ever been part. I thought they had a group in front of them, they did not. After 15 this group stopped at the crossing of holes 16 and way to 12. They just decided to hangout and have a good time. Luckily they told us to play through at that point. Never seen anything like it in my 20 years of golfing. All about a good time, but the total lack of awareness was wild.
Nice course other than the hole number layout is insane.
Nice course well kept. The layout is terrible for an enjoyable round. Back tracking, crossing roads, not just neighborhood roads but a country road. Poor signage makes for a very unpleasant round of golf. I never have played such a poorly planned course layout, I think it was an after thought of the layout after a builder drew in his home division plan. Homes too close. Heard one house get hit by a drive of a tee with a minor slice. Just laid out very poorly for a nice flowing round of golf , I suggest you go elsewhere.
Amazing greens, everything else fairly average
Decent course but I was expecting better. Best part were the greens, they were in fantastic condition. Good track but given the unfriendliness of the staff, I probably won’t make a return trip. It seemed like everyone working there (pro shop, starter, bartender) didn’t want to be there, or at least didn’t want us there. Props to the course maintenance staff. They seemed cool. Waved hello and took a break from mowing while we were putting.
Great Course
It was a slow round but the course was fantastic and in great shape. Lots of water hazards which make it quite challenging..
Grey Hawk...Very Nice
Beautiful course layout and in very good condition even in the middle of the summer heat. Very challenging with lots of water and bunkers. Still a lot of fun though. Only negative was it took us just over 5 hours to play the round. Way too slow going but we had a great time.
Great course
We haven't played here in 9 years. Course was in great condition.
Great track
I’ve played Grey Hawk on a regular basis for years. Great layout with a variety of holes and hazards. Course was in very good shape. Tee box condition ok. Fairways in typical, great shape. Visited a few bunks. Sand was decent. Greens can be difficult to read. They are firm, but will hold well struck shots. Pace of play could have been better. Had 5th tee time of the day. Round took almost 5 hours.
Grey Hawk
Excellent condition, great people running the course, excellent pace of play.
Every hole a challenge
Excellent layout and challenge for all skill levels. Plenty of tee boxes to test even the longest hitters. To me, the greens are the best part of this course, along with the design. True rolling, fast and in excellent shape. The bunkers needed some work but in fairness with all the rain to be expected. Excellent course, will be back.
Fathers day
Pro Shop was honestly fairly unwelcoming. Bartender and the youn woman who was on the beverage cart were very friendly and engaging.
Lay out is good, would play it again. Was very disappointed in the condition of the bunkers. Hard, need new sand, and drainage needs to be addressed. Standing water is not acceptable for a round that cost $75.
