Red/Blue at Ramblewood Country Club

About
For more than half a century, Ramblewood Country Club has been one of the top public golf courses in southern New Jersey. The club offers 27 holes of championship golf that are played as three different 18-hole combinations. The Red/Blue Course starts with one of the original nines from 1962, while the back nine was added 10 years later. The Red nine has large, subtly undulating greens bordered by strategically placed bunkers. Be prepared for a few forced carries over water. The challenges are nicely balanced with forgiving fairways that have generous landing areas. The Blue nine is an interesting contrast to the front of the golf course. It's routed through mature pine forests and it has tighter fairways though the greens are just as undulating as the Red, making course management the key to scoring well.

Just an OK round
The course was in mediocre condition. Rough was burned up, which was expected due to the heat. The bunkers were dirt. Tees and greens were ok.
Staff was not particularly friendly, except the starter who was very nice. Pace was fine but with less than 30 people on the whole course, I still don’t know why 6 of us got jammed up together.
Day Out
Greens real slow. . Hot week so maybe not their fault but was disappointed in speed of greens. Also. Railroad ties leading to boxes need replacing. Especially Red #9. Buddy almost broke his neck the other day. Other than small stuff. Great day!
Back on the GolfNow App
It was nice to get back on Ramblewood. The course was in good shape. Greens were really smooth and very flat. Which is nice for a change. I would give the Staff a 5 star rating but there is always someone in the Proshop that wants to answer you like it is the first time you were ever in one. Don’t let that scare you away, play it from the back for the best experience.
Great Conditions
The team has done a great job upgrading and maintaining course. Tee boxes bunkers and greens are all in great shape. Staff is very friendly. Highly recommend.
Priced too high for current conditions
My wife and I went to visit our grandkids in NJ, and my wife suggested taking my clubs and going to play golf on Saturday. Who was I to say no?
One of the few places that had tee times available by the time I looked was Ramblewood. The staff was very friendly.
One of the first things I noticed was that the practice green appeared to have been aerated at least twice in the last month. The holes were not healed, and while most were sand filled, many were not. That made for a bumpy green. Of course, all the rest of the greens were the same way.
Out on the course (Blue/White) I encountered at least 2 holes that had temporary tees due to construction in progress of new tee areas. In addition, many of the tee boxes it was difficult to find a level place to tee up.
I enjoyed the layout. The course was otherwise in okay shape, but not great. For early season, that is what I would expect.
My biggest complaint is charging full regular price for a course with aerated greens and temporary tees. There should have been a discount and a warning that those conditions existed.
Good course for price
Course was in good shape for the season and weeks weather. Had the course to ourselves! Few holes are straightforward always a hidden creek or trap or pond! Not long and fair price for winter golf.
TOO MANY OUTINGS
The most horrible experience with outings I have ever had in my life.
There were 3 outings, but the worst was the one that had two carts , one set of clubs on one and the other a full cooler of beer.
Multiply times 5 and that was what we dealt with.
Luckily the course gave us a rain check , since we could only complete 5 holes in 90 minutes.
Quality for value
Great course that provides a challenge as weather changes and depending on rotation. Staff are always friendly.
Nice course
Nothing to blow you away but it’s a nice course. Greens were perfect. Tee boxes perfect.
Cash Cow
Three Nines, Two Outings and T Times...
Ruined the experience. The course should be closed down when outings are scheduled. Who would ever try and play a round of golf behind a public tournament? The Staff acted like it was no big deal. It was incredibly awkward. I felt like a party crasher. That is it for Ramblewood. Much better options in the area. Don’t get sucked in to that seen.
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package

Played many times during summer. Price for seniors under 40 dollars. Played January 15 2021 and the price became 53 dollars. Employee said golf is in demand. Have played all jaworski couses in south jersey.....but will not play any of them again. Could have played twisted dunes for 40 and no comparison . Ramblewood just a course to hit the ball nothing more...
