Play at another course
My friend invited me to play here again and I reluctantly agreed even though I’ve had numerous bad experiences with this course. Why are the bunkers just mud pits that you can’t even hit out of? The bunkers is one thing but what ruins this course is the pin placement on about half the holes. They set their pins in the middle of ridiculous down slopes. If you don’t make your putt on the first try it’s rolling at least 10-15 feet by regardless of how you strike the ball and a lot of times just rolling off the green. Save your money, play elsewhere like Ramblewood, Indian Springs, or Golden Pheasant.
Pennsauken Golf Course
Played 8/31, at 1pm, and took just over 5 HOURS!
This is unacceptable, IMO, just pushed players out, back2back, maybe squeezed and few between times, IDK, but took away all the fun!
Do better Pennsauken, maybe have a marshall out there.
Best Greens at a S. Jersey at a Public Course
This was my first time playing this course, and I have to commend the condition of the greens. They were dense, and honestly the only ones that I have played in the summer that were not too slow.
Tale of two 9's
I like the front 9 but hate the back 9. With the combination of back to front sloped greens/false fronts and pin placements, not only are many of the holes on the back 9 unfair, they are not enjoyable. On the par 3 15th, the pin was 1 yard from the back of the green. My ball hit 2 feet away from the hole and rolled 2 inches off the back into the rough. Barely touched the ball with my putter, and the ball went 20 feet past the hole.
Great condition
Always in great shape… fairways and greens were in perfect condition
Very poor value
I played Pennsauken GC because I was invited to play with my friend who is a Pennsauken resident and pays over $1,400/year for an in-town membership to Pennsauken GC. This membership is walking only. Cart fees are extra and are required before 1:00 pm.
While the course is presently in good overall condition, the tee time cost is ABSURD! I payed $95 for 18 holes with a cart. I had little choice. I wish I knew in advance about the extremely high tee time cost as I would have suggested an alternate public golf course to my friend. Pennsauken Township must believe it’s course is a high caliber public golf course that commands over priced tee time fees. Not so Pennsauken Township!
My friend informed me the cost of club memberships and general public tee times were SIGNIFICANTLY increased about two years during the latter part of the pandemic period (20-21). Non-resident memberships were eliminated as well.
I will not play Pennsauken GC again unless tee times costs are reduced to be more equitable for the product offered. If that means I play less golf, so be it!!! I will play other courses; even it that requires me to drive a bit further to the less costly courses. I recommend everyone do the same! STOP THE INSANITY!
Good Condition
Overall the course is in really good condition. The greens and fairways are great. I don't like that a lot of the tee boxes are cowned. Having an uphill or downhill lie on half your tee shots is not good.
Greens are challenging for a lousy putter like myself but overall the course is in great shape
