Potter's Park Golf Course
About
The City of Hamilton offers two municipal courses, the championship Twin Run Golf Course and the regulation-length Potters Golf Course. They both provide some of the most affordable rounds in the area. Although Potters is the easier of the two courses, it's still a fun layout that has become a favorite with locals. It's ideal for beginners but also great for a quick round no matter what skill level. The back nine plays especially fast. The holes are mostly straightforward with a few strategically placed bunkers and subtle elevation changes to contend with. Potters Golf Course may not be the most challenging round you've ever played but the casual atmosphere and fun layout shouldn't be overlooked. It's also conveniently located less than an hour from both Cincinnati and Dayton.

Not a happy customer
We paid for 18 holes w a 12:50 tee time but due to poor scheduling and allowing a group of 4 in front of you unable to keep their shirts in and a beer out of their hands it took us 3 1/2 hours just to get to the 9 hole, we called on hole 4 asking for a credit to come back another day and play the back half because taking 8 hours to do 18 holes but this never in the cards for us, the older gentleman w Gray hsir working was rude and said absolutely not so we turned the cart in as well as the 2 guys behind us that had the exact tee time as us said they have been coming here for years would not be back snd didn’t play their last 9 holes!! Then to top it off you have golfers not paying attention and hit the ball missing my head by about 6 inches on the 6th hole and they were 3 carts behind us, absolute nightmare!!
Great course
Greens and fairways in great shape. Course has really cleared away lot of trees and hazards. Excellent staff!
Great course.
Course is in great shape even though they are redoing the bunkers. Pace of play is amazing. You can play 18 in 4 hours and that’s with a couple back ups. Price was right and the course was great. Will play again!!!!!
The course is nice, but over laps other holes.
It is a beautiful course, but when the holes are so close if you don’t have a perfect hit then your playing on someone else’s hole. No directions on where the next hole is. Grass needs kept up better and there are so many weeds.
Great price, course a bit unfair.
Great price, worth coming back only for that reason. It is a short course, but the greens are extremely hard, fast, and sloped. Couldn't get ball to stop on greens, slightly touched downhill putts rolled off the green...wasn't any fun trying to chip/putt...frustrating. Had to use 64 degree wedge to get ball to stop anywhere on greens. No divot marks no matter how far out you hit green from.
Just fine
This course is ok - they should spend some money on fixing the bunkers fairways and greens were nice and the speed on the greens were fair but I putted long all day because I hadn’t played yet this season. Not a bad course overall just need to spend a little to make it better.
Excellent course
The improvements that they have made to the course is truly amazing. Soon as they make the bunkers better. The course will be in tip top shape
St. B
The weather was excellent. No golfers behind us. The course was in great condition. Looking forward to playing again!
Good Beginner Course
The course is good for beginners because it isn’t too expensive, has some pretty features, and has decent fairways. Some of the fairways were extremely close together so you could be playing in someone else’s way pretty frequently if you miss your own. Honestly, if this course had better greens it would get a much better rating. The greens are incredibly small, almost all of them are basically straight down a hill, and they play like putting on concrete. If you missed a putt in any direction by just a little bit it was very possible you’d be off the green for your next putt. Otherwise, good course.
Glad we booked
Staff very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed the course which had many wide fairways and greens were quick. Potter's is a work in progress with removal of excess hazard overgrowth , sand trap work and cart path improvements. The effort shows and we will play again.
Wet and cold but still fun. Greens in great shape. Making a lot of improvements.
A favorite
This course is a favorite among me and my golf buddies. Even though we will switch things up and play Glenview or Grizzley/Bruin, this is the course that is easily agreed upon. You can usually get through it in less than a few hours, and the grounds are kept up really well. Lastly, the staff is always amazing and they really care about the experience their clients have, especially veterans.
Short but challenging
Played mid January... sunny but cold. Greens were of course hard as a block of ice. Definitely a fun course you have to use your head on. Fairly short with small greens. Limited staff was friendly and accommodating. Looking forward to playing again.
