They made it work
We had a tee time reserved for 9:30AM. When we arrived there was a college tournament under way. After some confusion the staff was able to move us to the two 9-hole courses.
Country club fairways
Staff friendly
Course layout beautiful
Pace of play good
Tough greens
No carts
There was a complete shortage of carts. The wait time was 3 hours minimum for a cart. Overall the course was easy though and I would recommend if you want to walk.
Solid test.
Both Highland courses, Red and Blue, were both in very poor shape not too long ago. Both have come back nicely. Looks like they put someone in charge that knows what they are doing and you can tell they are putting money into the upkeep. I grew up on this course. So glad it’s playable again. Does the course have rough spots? Sure. The greens have always been the strong suit of the course. When I played they were aerated, but once they come back, they are going to be great. Country club like greens. True. Fast.
Excellent Value
This is a long, straight course. Nothing particularly fancy. Every year the quality of the greens and fairways improves. Today the greens on the Blue course were excellence! The staff are wonderful. There are no frills, no hot food, which is not an issue for most. Over, it is an excellent value.
Needs some work
Course has several holes in the fairways and cart paths are only partial to show you the way to the next hole. The course is challenging but not too long. Greens were in great shape and very fast.
Blue course
The courses are almost back in shape. Keep up the good work. Great Staff!
Highland park
Played it fir the first time in a while..Course us in great shape with fast greens..Coming back.
Horrible
They booked an outing of dozens of people over my tee time. The person said I don't know how it happened it wasn't my fault. Really, that is the best you can do?
Course rebounding from years f neglect and mismanagement
I’ve played Highland Park Golf Course for the past thirty-five (35) years, the conditions are improving by the day and the layout is beautiful. The new staff is friendly and conscientious, the pricing is competitive with other courses in the area, a true Cleveland gem...
Fair option
The RED course has a very interesting design. Not very challenging, but very pleasant to play.
The only thing that is really far from ideal is the grass itself, mainly in the tee boxes.
Greens were cut quite high, so even in a 87F day the ball did not roll much.
Dont knock it
The Blue course is a 6700 from the tips (6550 from the whites) and the greens were in great shape. The Blue sees less play than the Red (because it is 18 only) which helps keep the greens in fine shape. I was out on a Monday morning and I only had one other group in front of me (but they kept up pace and I never waited on a shot). If you're not looking for a Country Club experience and want to play a straight forward track with enough length to make it interesting and still have money left over to buy dinner afterward, this isnt a bad option
