This is a Great Course
The tees were moved forward they said to allow the established tees to heal. They have done a great job with leaves and the drought conditions we have had in Ohio this summer.
The green gave been fertilized and I had a great time today. You can play all day for $20.00.
Poor overall experience
Many tee boxes were moved forward by a minimum of 40 to 60 yards with some even further out. This completely changed each hole. Other than that the overall condition was fair with the greens being in pretty good condition. If I had known that all tee boxes were moved up as far as they were, I never would have played this course.
Hope this isn't the end
I've played this course twice this year, and enjoyed it both times. I remember playing it about twenty-five to thirty years age . It has filled in somewhat and I remember the greens seem bigger then. It was fun to pay it again. They let me trade my Drivers license for a round with a demo m2 driver and 3 wood , which I thought was nice of them.(didn't help though). I heard this might be the last year for Maplecrest. I hope that it's not true. They were preparing it for winter so we'll see if it closes
Great value/Pace of play
Played 18 as a single in 3 1/4 hours. Overall course is pretty burned out from lack of rain, but greens and most of fairways watered and in good shape. Trimming and weeding of perimeter areas seems to be lacking and course is not maintained as well as in the past. But for pace of play and price it was a great deal.
Beautiful day - fast greens - accommodating starter - good value.
Price was great, course not so much. Been playing this course for over 20 years and this is the worse condition I have ever seen it. I am sure part of it is due to the weather we have had. Overall, for the money, it was a great deal. I would not pay full price for this course.
Rumor has it that this course is closing at the end of the season and it sure shows. They are conserving everything and not spending more than they have to, yet still charging full price. Spend your money elsewhere.
Course conditions were good but pace of play horrible!
1st time playing the course and found course conditions were good. The starter was very friendly and mentioned the course may be closing at end of season..hope not! The front nine played a little slow but the back nine was horribly slow. Halfway through hole 10 the twosome ahead of me stopped by on their way back to the parking lot to say they were fed up with the pace of play. On most of the back nine holes there were 3-4 groups stacked up waiting to tee off on every hole. Liked the course and may make a return trip.
I have played this course for years and have not been there for @ 18mos. Dry weather or not this course needs to drop some $$$. To my understanding it is either sold or for sale, but either way a very nice track gone south and I don't mean Florida.
Course in good shape for being in a drought
6300 yds from blue tees, it's not a long course. Some tight holes so trees come into play on miss hits. All trees are trimmed up high so you rarely lose a ball. Long par 3's , two of them over 230.
Our foursome had fun, definitely play it again.
This course was close to my home with a good price
The course was in good shape the price was even better it was a beautiful day all courses should give lower prices to get more golfers there I give this experience an A+
Not bad for the $...
Nice course but a lot of trees that you can get in trouble with if you do not stay close to the fairways. No ranger pushing slow golfers and they could mark distances better but overall it's pretty nice course.
Nice Course, good layout, challenging
I got a great deal on this golf course. It is a very good test of golf. Yes the course is not what it once was. I got a discount and it wasn't real busy. We finished in less than 4 hours and the greens were better than a course I paid 4 times as much in N. Carolina. If you want a 5 star course then play elsewhere. But if your looking for a nice course at a bargain price then yes play here - while it is still open.
As always a very tight course. Narrow fairways, long par 3s and greens not fast.
Like most golf courses in this economy Maplecrest is cutting corners. Course was in fair shape but no matter where you looked you saw things being let go...bunkers untouched for quite awhile, grass overgrowth, holes that had been left far too long, tees that had been overused in that spot.
Maplecrest is a simple layout with narrow landing areas and extremely long par threes even from the short tees. Several over 200 from the tees I played. I'll go back because of the GolfNow prices and the convenience to my home. Don't drive too far and don't pay over $15 as I don't believe it is worth any more than that in its current condition.
staff very rude
course is going down hill over the years.Green are very bumpy and ball jumps off the line on every putt. I did not see any course management. Tree debris all over greens. It was one of the worst rounds and to top off the guy behind counter was arguing with me. Do not play this course to much money for below par conditions. Plenty of better course for the price. will never play maplecrest again.
Nice course! Very nice staff!
I was hesitant to golf this course due to the reviews. We gave it a try and we were pleasantly surprised! I would definitely golf this course again!
Leaves everywhere. On the greens and on the fairways. In the tree lines, the leaves were as high as 15 inches. Wasted a lot of time searching for balls.
Not the same place
Played here about 6 years ago. Not nearly as pretty as it used to be. Conditions were fairly rough.
I had played this course 8 years or so ago and it was beautiful. There were flowers everywhere, the fairways were perfect and the greens were pristine. Sadly this time it was more like a cow pasture. Very little fairway grass, no flowers to be found, piles of dirt and trenches everywhere. The greens were in decent shape. And to top things off they squeezed a foursome of teenage hackers in front of us as we made the turn. Spent $35.00 on greens fees and feel I was overcharges by $20.00.
I will not go back !
