About
Fox Hollow Golf Course in Somerville sprawls across acres of rolling woodlands, offering dramatic elevation changes throughout the par-70 layout. Designed by local designer Hal Purdy, the abundant trees and hilly terrain have been deftly incorporated into the course. Originally built in 1967, the golf course was completely redesigned in 2000 to make it more challenging while at the same time improving its playability. Since its renovation, it has garnered a local following but it is still one of the better kept secrets of Somerset County, making it likely that golfers will be able to play the golf course regardless of the day or time. In addition to the course, there is also a practice facility with a grass driving range, a bunkered practice green, and an expansive putting green. One reason Fox Hollow G.C. is a popular choice, besides the enjoyable layout, is the affordability it offers.

Stunning layout
Some challenging holes, very nice well kept mantined course (even for the leagues they have) Fairways, bunkers, and greens all very nice. Some tee boxes could definitely use work though. Thick rough and fescue in a lot of spots. Personally like it better then spooky And quail.
Tight chute golf
Staff, course, pace of play excellent. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars for course condition is that tee boxes are pretty chewed up Otherwise play conservative and you’ll score well.
Good course
Course is in overall good shape, few tee boxes could use some work. Back tees are in better shape.

Starter
The starter was not very friendly. It was like he was doing us a favor to get us going. Rough was pretty long as well.

There were no ball washers. Everything else was great :)

beautiful course in great shape
Had a great round. Course was beautiful and in great shape. Pace of play was excellent. Social distancing and all precautions taken.
Great to be back out
Played Fox Hollow yesterday at 2:40 pm with my dad for Fathers Day. We arrived a few minutes early for our tee time and each enjoyed a delicious burger. Evan, the starter directed us to our cart once we were ready and then also down to the first tee. Course conditions were spectacular. In my opinion, these greens are currently the best in the state! It was a very hot day and the beverage cart attendant, Hailey, made sure we were well hydrated. Finished our round in under 4 hours, Nick the ranger made sure of that. What more could you ask for out of a golf course! It was a great father son bonding day and will definitely be coming back with my dad in the coming weeks!
Slow pace of play
Clueless starter did not properly space foursomes and no ranger in sight. Tournament oddly scheduled on a Saturday followed by open play created a mess on the fairways, counted 3 foursomes on the fourth hole and another approaching the tee. If you want to charge $90 a round you can’t run it like Weequaic Park.
