About
Fox Hollow Golf Course in Somerville sprawls across acres of rolling woodlands, offering dramatic elevation changes throughout the par-70 layout. Designed by local designer Hal Purdy, the abundant trees and hilly terrain have been deftly incorporated into the course. Originally built in 1967, the golf course was completely redesigned in 2000 to make it more challenging while at the same time improving its playability. Since its renovation, it has garnered a local following but it is still one of the better kept secrets of Somerset County, making it likely that golfers will be able to play the golf course regardless of the day or time. In addition to the course, there is also a practice facility with a grass driving range, a bunkered practice green, and an expansive putting green. One reason Fox Hollow G.C. is a popular choice, besides the enjoyable layout, is the affordability it offers.

Great to be back out
Played Fox Hollow yesterday at 2:40 pm with my dad for Fathers Day. We arrived a few minutes early for our tee time and each enjoyed a delicious burger. Evan, the starter directed us to our cart once we were ready and then also down to the first tee. Course conditions were spectacular. In my opinion, these greens are currently the best in the state! It was a very hot day and the beverage cart attendant, Hailey, made sure we were well hydrated. Finished our round in under 4 hours, Nick the ranger made sure of that. What more could you ask for out of a golf course! It was a great father son bonding day and will definitely be coming back with my dad in the coming weeks!
Slow pace of play
Clueless starter did not properly space foursomes and no ranger in sight. Tournament oddly scheduled on a Saturday followed by open play created a mess on the fairways, counted 3 foursomes on the fourth hole and another approaching the tee. If you want to charge $90 a round you can’t run it like Weequaic Park.
Perfect conditions
Every part of the course was in great shape. Two thumbs up for the maintenance crew and superintendent.... If you haven’t played here give it a try
Panodemic
I was not able to get a separate cart when my friend and I showed up to play..he was very very concerned about social distancing.they then put us with 2other players that did not have face masks.my friend ended up walking the course because he didn’t want to be in the same cart with me.a unpleasant experience
Nice public course
This was my first time playing Fox Hollow. We played in 3:30 Course is well marked along with GPS distances were right on. Front nine was very friendly the back as more challenging. Probably will play this course a couple of more times this year

First time playing. Thank you for leaving flagsticks in during the pandemic....
Greens were a little quick, but in very good condition.
Fairways beautiful. Staff very friendly, location in very area... beautiful views on some of greens when looking ahead and back...
Recommend playing and going to play again...
Hidden Gem
Lived in the area for years and never got a chance to play Fox Hollow. What a hidden gem. Highly recommend. Nice track with good layout. Finishing holes in front 9 and back 9 are par 3’s which is cool feature.
Tough for a high handicapper
During CoronaVirus tee times are so spaced out you don’t see anyone in front of or behind you . It’s a beautiful course well maintained tee boxes excellent. Greens fast but perfectly maintained. Just a tough course for someone who sprays there shots . High rough and tight fairways . You miss the fairways you will be hitting off of a slope on many different angles . Some good par 3’s . Very tough par 5’s . Something different to try but I prefer a less slanted close z
