Sprinklers on every hole (front 9)
Don’t be one of the first few groups out. It’ll be your job to move the sprinklers around the greens before you start putting. Other than that the course is great, but this was actually the second time it’s happened to me when I’ve been one of the first groups to head out. I won’t make that mistake again.
Good experience
Course looked good. Played 18 in just over two hours
Good challenge
Have not played Powderhorn GC for a couple years. First thing I noticed pulling into the parking lot is things are looking a little “worn”. The landscaping, clubhouse, golf paths all needing some TLC. The positives-the course itself was in really good shape. The greens were outstanding and overall this course offers a great challenge. I enjoyed my round even though my game sucks and will definitely be back with my boys for another go.
Fire the big guy
Big guy is rude and tried to charge my friend extra to play and was giving us a hard time for no reason. Doesn’t make you feel welcomed and doesn’t make you wanna come back. Fire him and get polite staff members. Thank you.
Worst run course in the area.
This is the second time booking 18 holes. First occasion rude desk jockey said we did not have a reservation. After he saw he was wrong, quickly said well you can only play 9 holes not the 18 we booked. Showed up today 30 minutes early for our reserved tee time for 18 holes, and again was told we can only play 9. We play quick, was done by 6:45 and was not allowed to play any extra. I get not wanting people to play until 9:00, but why are you rushing people off the course at 7:00 when sunset isn’t until 8:45?! Why offer 18 hole tee times if you will not honor them and only let people play 9. Will definitely not be back to this course.
Great course but definitely not easy
Great course to play I like playing it but you always got to make sure you bring some extra balls with!
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The cart paths need a lot of work throughout the corse.
Great course
Have played this course many times in years past. The overall condition of this course is EXCELLENT. The fairways and greens were above country club standards.
Coarse needs some work done.
The coarse is ok for the weekend golfer but if you really like to golf good courses I would skip.
The greens are in good shape but the cart paths are in disarray. The fairways are isn good shape in some. Are but need work in others. I have golf here for many years but haven’t in a couple, it could use some tlc. Good course lay out though.
Short for bigger hitters, A lot of drivable par fours.
Poor Managers
Owners really need to upgrade the current managers in the clubhouse. (Big guy) Has very poor respect for the customer and a no care attitude to service. Couldn’t even provide concession service during our turn because he was too busy and not wanting to wait on us. Attitude adjustment needed. Please do better. Many golfers talking about this same subject.
Good & Bad
The course is both good and bad. Right when you pull up and see the sign filled with weeds, you know what you are getting. The clubhouse is really rundown and old but the employees were all great. The pace of play was really good as well. The course has some challenging holes and overall is pretty decently maintained but has some rough spots. The cart paths are falling apart in many areas so it can be rough. The greens and tees were pretty good and overall, the course is worth playing.
Trash
2nd worst course I've ever played with the most beautiful greens. The restrooms smelled horrible. Everything was dated. There was even horse flies biting me. I have to give it to them though the greens were exceptional.
Extremely narrow fairways and way too many hazards
You had better hit a perfectly straight ball off of the tee or you will go into the rough and very likely will not find your ball. 4 or 5 degrees off of a straight hit and your ball will not be in the fairway. We estimated some fairways to be about 10 yards wide and the rough to be 15-20 yards wide (or wider) on either side. I’m content shooting 83-90 for 18 holes on most courses. I shot a 97 due to many penalty shots from losing balls that were not far off the narrow fairways. On the plus side, I ended up finding several other balls in the rough lost by other golfers but still took a penalty for not finding my own.
You must be an employee, really country club conditions?? Please leave honest reviews.
