Short & Challenging
I had a foursome and we were 2nd off with a twosome in front of us so the pace was great! We played the tips which I think was a shade over 6,000 yards. I'm not a long hitter by any means but had a few looks in from less than 100 yards on par 4s. That said it's pretty tight with a bunch of placement shots especially if you missed the fairway. Fairways were recently cut and in great shape, Greens were lush and perhaps a touch slow but rolled true. All in all it's a long haul to get out there but the value (esp. through GolfNow) is well worth it!
Nice Course
It was nice. Some of the greens had some bare spots, but they still rolled pretty well. The layout is mostly good. Two of the holes didn't make sense, but we got through it. Fairways were in really good shape and the rough was about 3 1/2 inches. I'll play it again.
Tom had all he could handle and then some
Great course for all levels. The place was in great shape and it was really fun to play. I will definitely go back.
hidden Gem
Awesome 18 holes Every hole was different. Was in great shape. Don't pass this one up.
Powderhorn-great value
Course was in good shape And was a great value will play again this summer
Great Shape
i was happy with the conditions this early in the season. I like the layout as it allows you to use various clubs throughout the course.
spring golf
Short but challenges are at every hole. Will definitely be back to play in the summer.
Good spring golf
Played on a nice spring day. Even with all the water, the course was in great shape. Great value for the money.
Great Value and Lots of Fun
While the course isn't long you have to hit every club in your bag. You have to think your way around the course and a little course knowledge can be helpful. Had a beautiful Fall Day to play with great company. I highly recommend playing Powderhorn, the day we played the rate was $15 for 18 and included the cart. Go enjoy a day on the golf course at Powderhorn.
Beware of Ponds and Streams
A Beautiful Golf Course and fun to have a round in the middle of wine country.
Great golf challenge.
Powderhorn is a great course a 40 minute drive from Cleveland, but well worth the drive. Nice people, challenging course, pleasant staff and nice practice facility. Great Value!
Great value for a great round
Although the course was very wet it is in excellent condition. The roughs are a bit high making ball location sometimes tough, but overall the fairways and greens are in great shape.
Fun course and great condition
This was my first time playing Powderhorn, its a fun short par 70 golf course. The conditions were perfect and the course did not have a single problem. I didn't see a bad lie anywhere on the course. Electric carts is always a plus. The only problem was on hole seven ran into several super slow groups. The greens were firm and fast, several three putts.
The course is fun, but the short par 4s seemed a little repetitive for me, 3w, 5w, or 3i to inside 60 yards gets old after a couple of times. But I would play this course again for sure.
Awesome Twilight Rates, Never overcrowded.
I'm relatively new to golf but have played 18 at Powderhorn around 10 times this summer due to their awesome "twilight rates" $20 for 18/w a cart after 2pm! If you live within 10 miles there is no better value in the area. Even outside that range the value is still there even if it is a weekend. The course is in great shape and presents a decent challenge for moderate to high handicappers but I would assume that low handicappers might just not have that same challenge. The staff is really down to earth and modest. To be honest I've never seen this course very busy but I would imagine that's more because of the location being very rural. If you are in the area the golf now weekday rates are unbeatable and almost always available. It's also owned by the same owners as Fowler's Mill so expect it to only get better.
Worth the drive
This course is a little out of the way but very nice. Fairly good condition and challenging. They could use a little help on the landscaping but I suppose the average golfer doesn't care about weeds.
Decent but could be better
We arrived exactly on time for our tee time though I would have liked to have been early. It ended up not mattering either way because they were backed up about an hour. Very slow rate of play, Golfnow's price advertised a savings of 64% on the price when I actually ended up spending more money compared to if I would have just scheduled the tee time over the phone. So golfnow needs to check some of it "savings" and look into making the site factual. The was quite a disappointment. The course itself was decent my only comments were dry bunkers and the edges of the green were quite beat up on some holes.
Great Value for a local quality course
Awesome staff, quick friendly... Course played well... Not a lot of waiting even on a Sunday afternoon. Green in excellent condition, some tee boxes were chewed up a bit but, it's a public course ... Great challenge.. Highly recommend playing here any time you can
GREAT DAY
People are very friendly. Great track you'll use every club in your bag. Some short (risk reward) par 4's. Greens are in GREAT shape. The people who own Fowlers Mill just took over I see it getting nothing but better. More expensive? HOPE NOT.
Good value for the money
First time playing here on the recommendation of a friend. Staff was friendly and helpful and was in good shape, even after heavy rain the previous day. Course plays short even from the back tees which made for a fairly quick 18. Also the course wasn't crowded so pace of play was great. This course is great if your looking for some quiet and a good value. Def worth the drive a few times a season.
