Wedgewood Country Club in Turnersville is one of the most popular public golf courses in the Tri-State area. It offers an upscale atmosphere with a traditional layout that pays homage to Philadelphia's most prestigious and renowned private courses. The course is like playing two in one with a front nine that is spacious and open while the back nine is much tighter and more heavily tree lined. The entire Wedgewood layout sprawls across gentle undulating terrain, providing subtle breaks throughout that will test your skills. There are two holes that are particularly memorable, the 13th, one of the toughest par 4s in the area, and the 17th, a tough par 5. The 13th is a lengthy par 4 that requires a second shot over water with a long club to a difficult target. Wedgewood Country Club's penultimate hole demands accuracy with an uphill drive through a chute.

Solid Track

For the money, this course is great. The greens were rolling way faster than you'd expect. There are a lot of geese, but they eventually move. I think we paid about $50pp and it was well worth it.

Not much value for the money

Unfortunately the course was in terrible condition for our round. The greens were unkept, the fairways were riddled with goose feathers and droppings making it difficult to find and hit your ball. The pace of play was good because the course was practically empty.

Disappointed by this place again

I got a good price and its close to my house otherwise I really don’t like Wedgewood. The Tee boxes and fairways are in very bad condition. They installed the worst GPS system possible in the carts. It gives you distance but no map of the Hole and they have a Geofence system that disables the cart if you violate it, and constantly beeps at you if you get near it. But there is no actual signage telling you where you can’t drive most of the time so its just a guessing game. Seemed like they have several holes that are cart path only but no signs indicating that, and it would even beep at you when you were on the cart path sometimes getting close to the hole. Also no drink cart was out.

Not Worth Full Price

It's a fine course that has a lot of potential with it's layout but there are so many other options in the area for a better price and better course conditions. At $74 full price I shouldn't see crab grass all over the fairway and especially not on the fringe of the green. Carts are terribly slow and the gps lockdown added 15 minutes to our round because we couldn't even go on the fairway without it locking us out half the time. The greens were nice but unfortunately the practice green didn't match the speed at all. Should be $55 max.

Poor conditions

For the price you expect better conditions. Tee boxes and fairways rough in many areas. Layout was fun but can’t justify the cost.

Goose Crap Galore

Disgusting goose crap everywhere. Burnt greens. Weeds on the fairway of many holes. Sand traps were terrible. Never again, especially not for $75.

Interesting Experience

Value for the money based on Hot Deal price. Played here for that reason only since I think the course is overpriced for the value. Was pleasantly surprised with the condition of the greens and fairway which are typically burned out by this point in the season. Now has gps in carts but the geo fencing is over done.

Around 7:45pm The gps warned us that the course was closing at 8pm and the carts should be returned within 10 minutes. This was the first time we were made aware of the closing time. Being on the 16th hole with at least 45 minutes of playable light remaining we ignored the message until the carts were shut off. The proshop called my cell to reinforce the message I told them we would walk the rest of the way and they could come retrieve the carts and that is what they did.

The proshop worker was nowhere to be found when we finished however a couple other employees were quite apologetic and offered to make good for the treatment. Guess I won’t be going out of my way to play here again but not saying I would not.

Fine for the money - annoying carts

Decent course in nice shape if you can ignore the goose poop everywhere. The biggest downfall was the geofencing on the golf carts. It shuts down your cart but there’s no signage to tell you where to go. Staff was cool, bar was great.

Falling Apart

I used to play at wedg a lot. Like, once a week a lot. It was always an interesting 50's layout that was rough around the edges. It's still an interesting 50's layout, but at this point I'm not sure if they even have any groundscrew or groundskeeping budget. Every bunker was simply dirt and rocks - so shallow you'd bottom out on the base and could see drainage pipes. Fairways were more clover than fairway. Looks like the green on number 3 is a few good rainstorms away from falling into the pond. Geese have eaten every sembalnce of grass around that hole as well, contributing to erosion.. Played after a rainy week, but somehow the fairways were harder than the parking lot. Back 9 greens in the woods (10-11, 17-18 are dying, probably bc they're in the woods (no fans, no light. trim!!). Don't get me started on the GPS on the carts - no idea why they ring a doorbell every 2 seconds.

Pros: Greens, while firmer than an underripe avocado, are in okay shape and still decently puttable. Fringe is non-existent though and good luck chipping. Tees were decent, and the pro shop guy is/was super friendly.

We got a hot deal for $40 and I'm satisfied with that price, but anything near their "normal" rates is robbery. Too bad - if someone put some effort in this could be a very decent place to spend a day.

I don't think they have a groundscrew anymore

Caveat that the greens were still in okay shape (outside of some dead spots) and tees were okay. Besides that, woof. No sand left in any bunkers + rocks in all of them - you can see the drainage pipes. Weeds and clover galore make for a nice meadow and bad golf course. No fringe to speak of and everything was hard as a rock.

Okay for twilight rates but full price is a rip off. Either put some money into it or let it go. Too bad as it's a decent layout.
