Wedgwood Country Club
About
Wedgewood Country Club in Turnersville is one of the most popular public golf courses in the Tri-State area. It offers an upscale atmosphere with a traditional layout that pays homage to Philadelphia's most prestigious and renowned private courses. The course is like playing two in one with a front nine that is spacious and open while the back nine is much tighter and more heavily tree lined. The entire Wedgewood layout sprawls across gentle undulating terrain, providing subtle breaks throughout that will test your skills. There are two holes that are particularly memorable, the 13th, one of the toughest par 4s in the area, and the 17th, a tough par 5. The 13th is a lengthy par 4 that requires a second shot over water with a long club to a difficult target. Wedgewood Country Club's penultimate hole demands accuracy with an uphill drive through a chute.

Good day to play Wedgwood
Had a frost delay but seems normal nowadays. Got out and immediately started running into using the “Leaf Ball Ruling” on more than half of the round. This is not the fault of the GC but the layout is tree lined and it’s Fall. There is some drainage issues even in this drought. Some reminders need to be made to fix ball marks and maybe supplying divot mix would help reduce the random scalloped fairways (125 - 150 yd. from the green).
This course has some challenging holes if you’re looking for a little more variety in course layout.
The bar needs a couple more menu choices but the friendly bartender made sure to provide the available choices and a beverage.
Never Again!
Had an 8:20 am tee time, arrived at 8:05 and the guys in the parking lot told me we were on a frost delay, but there was no frost anywhere. Went into the pro shop to pay, guy behind the desk was not taking payment. He said he would call us in by tee times? Get my bag out of the car and get my shoes on. Guys that were the 8:09 tee time head out. Go into the pro shop to pay. Head up to the first tee, check in with the starter, he gets out cart number and says there might be another single with us. No big deal. Waiting to tee off he then sends the 8:30 4 some off before us and we stood there. Said something to those guys and they went anyway. We were a twosome playing behind a foursome and had to wait on those d bags all day. As far as the course goes if you are charging $84 per round maybe you can afford a leaf blower to get the leaves out of the fairway and while you are at it maybe buy some sand for the bunkers that was mostly rocks and dirt. I’ve played over 50 different courses this year and this place flat out was awful. Course is cool and has some interesting holes but after this debacle not sure I’ll ever go back. Way too many other options for less and money and less nonsense.
Pleasantly surprised
Haven’t played here for 5 years and I must say it was in very good shape and was pleasantly surprised …
carts
the carts are moderated through the pro shop and turn off when in a restricted area.
a few times I was on a cart path, and they shut down..not too happy about that!!
Excellent greens
Greens are outstanding for a public course.
Fairways decent. Rough dried out.
Course
It is a great course to play. Even for beginners. I been to this course 4-5 times now and every time I play I get better!
Good course conditions - not too crowded
Close to the city, course condition is great. Carts are a little janky and it’s a little expensive but overall, it’s a top place to play if you live in downtown Philly.
Paid for 18, was told only to play 9
Bought and used my promotion code I have for hot deals…paid for 18, course was hosting a tournament at 1:00. I teed off at 10:05 and was told I could only play 9 because I needed to be off course due to tournament. Will golf now refund me? Cause that’s the pro shop guy said to do
Nice little course in the heart of Gloucester County.
Had a great day with friends playing Wedgewood on a Golf Now promotion. Course was in good shape and and is a good challenge. Everyone was friendly and friendly the greens were all excellent. Bunkers were ok. some had some stones but all in all. great value and good fun from a 20 handicapper.
Usual poor conditions and a jerk greenskeeper
You play at Wedgewood for one reason, because you want to play last minute and can’t find a time anywhere else. Yesterday, on top of the poor conditions, the pin on every hole was cut no more than 2 paces from the edge of every green, on a slope. So when hitting off of dirt, rocks or tree roots isn’t enough of a challenge, if you managed to get one on the center of the green, a 3 putt was in play every time. Miserable round other than the great weather and company.
