Wedgwood Country Club
About
Wedgewood Country Club in Turnersville is one of the most popular public golf courses in the Tri-State area. It offers an upscale atmosphere with a traditional layout that pays homage to Philadelphia's most prestigious and renowned private courses. The course is like playing two in one with a front nine that is spacious and open while the back nine is much tighter and more heavily tree lined. The entire Wedgewood layout sprawls across gentle undulating terrain, providing subtle breaks throughout that will test your skills. There are two holes that are particularly memorable, the 13th, one of the toughest par 4s in the area, and the 17th, a tough par 5. The 13th is a lengthy par 4 that requires a second shot over water with a long club to a difficult target. Wedgewood Country Club's penultimate hole demands accuracy with an uphill drive through a chute.

Give it a chance!
I played Wedgewood with some friends, not realizing it was a course that people had told me multiple times (last season) was in terrible shape. Obviously the course is waking up from a long, hard winter, but you can see the potential.
It was a challenging course, and definitely worth recommending. The front nine might fool you a bit, but once you make the turn, you have a lot of holes that require some real skill. There are a few significant water holes where your ability to carry the distance is important. My favorite hole however was 18, par five with a VERY elevated green surrounded by sand traps.
The amenities were under construction somewhat. We did not go into the bar/restaurant. The restrooms leave a lot to be desired (at least from a female point of view). Overall, you can see the potential and in my opinion it's definitely worth a try.
Fast greens
Overall, I like the golf course it’s not summer Ready, but we’re just hitting spring time. However, the greens were really fast each and everyone really enjoyed it. A number holes were laid out extremely well 13 is a beast would like to play that hole again.
And the part three were fun.
Friday at Wedgwood
Best day to play, semi bright and light winds, temps in the mid to upper 40’s. Course was fair for this time of year. The tee boxes were mixed old and temporary boxes in fair shape. The fairways had some wet spots but it had recently rained and this course stays wet a while. The bunkers were mixed too; old rocky dirt and fluffy sand. I spent some time in them, so I know what I’m talking about. Rakes were available and weren’t broken sticks.
The greens were in pretty good shape considering the time of year and recent weather conditions. A couple had player scuffs from previous frustrated players but all in all playable.
The only complaint I have is with the cart and the perimeter guarding system tied to the carts’ power system. We were not told of any cart path rules so we drove as if it were open. Each cart had its own unique rules; one would start sounding alarms about entering a restricted area, the other would not stop or sound alarms. IDK, but I hope they fix it.
Horrible course
Fairways are just barely playable debris all over the course and teeboxes are all closed . Definely not worth the money they are charging
Only on a hot deal.
For it being a late November day the course was in fair shape overall. The GPS for the golf carts definitely could use an update of the geo boundary lines because several times would the cart constantly be beeping even when completely on the cart path. The yardage feature is ok but the GPS is the main problem.
The greens were faster than I've ever seen , not only for this course but compared to even very expensive courses. They were in good shape overall just insanely fast. The course does seem to be improving overall from the past couple of years though.
If you can get on here on a hot deal then it usually is worth it, but at normal full rate it definitely is not worth the asking price even going into winter rates. I've played here over a couple dozen times over the years and like stated, I only ever play here if it's on a hot deal for the value.
Nice course to play for us City Golfers
There are limited opportunities to play golf for a person living in Center City Philadelphia. When a friend who has never played in the US asked me to take him to a course and teach him golf etiquette and pace of American golf, I found this course on Golf Now. It’s only a 30min drive from the city, they have great rates for 9-hole play, and we could go out just the 2 of us because we didn’t want to hold up other golfers.
It worked out perfectly. The course was well maintained for a dry November. We both were very impressed.
Good day to play Wedgwood
Had a frost delay but seems normal nowadays. Got out and immediately started running into using the “Leaf Ball Ruling” on more than half of the round. This is not the fault of the GC but the layout is tree lined and it’s Fall. There is some drainage issues even in this drought. Some reminders need to be made to fix ball marks and maybe supplying divot mix would help reduce the random scalloped fairways (125 - 150 yd. from the green).
This course has some challenging holes if you’re looking for a little more variety in course layout.
The bar needs a couple more menu choices but the friendly bartender made sure to provide the available choices and a beverage.
