Good Day if Golf
Overall conditions were very nice, except for the greens on the hikes being updated with a new sprinkler system but understand the need. Once complete should improve the greens
What Happened!?!
I used to play this course every week. I watched as numerous improvements have been made, new tee boxes, new greens, improved fairways, etc. I’ve recommended this course to many. Just played it for the first (and last) time this year. The tee boxes are ruined, greens are unplayable (first 13-14 holes), and so many bare spots in the fairways. What happened? I was beyond disappointed in this course. Very sad for a course that was well on its way to becoming a very nice track.
No water on course and serval greens in poor condition
Very disappointed in greens conditions with this large long patches across several greens?
Also Fairway along tree line are in rough condition.
The ranger was pushing us on time but failed to see the fourth in front causing backup.
I played here serval time over the years and believe the course would improved
. In my opinion it hit a set back
Good ,but needs things
The course is in decent shape aside from what looks like repairs to some of the greens. Also, there are lots of bare areas outside of the fairway and before the trees.
I have never understood the policy of not taking cash. It is inconvenient as not everyone likes to use their card for every transaction.
There also, is no water on the course. It was extremely humid and hot and to not have water out on various hikes just seems lazy.
Now to get to the reason of my writing a review.
The pace of play was horrible for an afternoon in the middle of the week. Granted, I was in a twosome and fully expected to catch any group in front of us. But, after the slow group in front offered to let us play through, we were met by the ranger who was sitting in his cart up near the 5th green, who told us, " you can't play a fivesome!"
We had to inform him that the group had let us play through, and they were in fact a foursome. So his math was about as accurate as his pace of play enforcement abilities.
At no point after that did I see any effort by anyone to remedy the situation, other than to here multiple people, including employees say that the pace of play is a very common issue. It is always a major complaint of any avid golfer and if it is a problem at your course, steps should be taken to remedy the problem.
Also, the rangers tone was not appreciated either. Not an " excuse me " or a " thank you" or an explanation for the slow pace in front of us.
At the 16th , we had to wait for two foursomes to tee of before us and there were three groups on the 17th tee by the time we finished 16.
The course has made strides and is in decent shape for a public course in the middle of August. But they still have some issues, and they generally have to do with ownership and staff.
The girl at reception was extremely nice and polite as was the cart guy when we returned the cart.
Great price and well maintained
Course was in great shape and you can tell they have been pumping money into it. For the price you can’t beat it!
Hidden Gem
This is a great course. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they were working on the 17th green and we had to use a temporary green set up in the fairway. That plus no cart person and they don't take cash anywhere. Not in the clubhouse, the check in or the halfway house at the 10th tee box. That said the tee boxes, fairways, bunkers and greens where in great shape. They are working like crazy on this course. The course is tight, very little rough between fairways and woods, so straight shooting is a must. Will add this course to my schedule.. Hidden gem.
Good course
The ranger is and has always been a very rude guy. I’m guessing retired blue collar worker. He definitely doesn’t represent The owners personality. This is definitely business oriented organization. Definitely not worth $58 and up !
Good coarse but very rude Ranger.
I’ve played this coarse a few times now and I like the coarse itself. The ranger is very rude and condescending. Played in groups of four and each time we stayed on pace. Each time he stated were not on pace. Don’t understand his logic when we had people on the greens in front and we were waiting on the fairway and no one was in the tee box behind us. This coarse is not cheap and I don’t pay that amount to play a round of speed golf.He definitely needs a lesson on people skills.I noticed he’s very nice and courteous to the older people and very rude to the younger ones.
Must play course in south Jersey. Course was in good condition
Winded up playing a second round after my first loop. Staff was awesome. Only inconvenience is they do not take cash on property, everything is card base only.
Vast Improvements. Back on the yearly south jersey rotation
Very enjoyable. Greens were a little slow. One green was beat up though still puttable. Other than that the course was well conditioned. I will be back next season for sure.
Great value
This course is on the upswing and turn around.
Good conditions, good plain Jane layout, nothing special.
Woods line every fairway, so hit it straight.
Greens are easy access and not well protected.
Good value
Im a fan of this course. The new owners have put a ton of money into it and you can tell. Upgrades to the course, club house, and bar/restaurant.
Its a great value for $45 with some challenge holes. Definitely worth checking out.
Nice condition
The owners have spent a ton of money to bring the course up to a very nice condition. The bag men must realize when a twosome come off of 18 and each of them tip you it's common to take their bags off and help them put their bags in their vehicles. I tipped $5.00 when I arrived and $5.00 when we came off of 18. I'm 72 years old with a new shoulder and would have appreciated a little help,
