Slowly Improved
Played last year and then saw significant improvement today.
Tee boxes/ fairways / greens are in great shape.
Bunkers need attention- new sand is much needed.
Cart paths / outer edges of fairways need upgrades.
Will be back in the area in May - can’t wait to be see it.
Pleasantly surprised
We had heard from a number of people about how nice it was to play the Pinelands and we totally have to agree. The new ownership is doing everything to make this a reputable course. I wished they had a portapotty out somewhere and better signage from hole to hole. We will definitely be back to play this course!
Good option
Well manicured overall.
Bunkers could be a touch better, cart paths need attention overall.
Small greens with tough pin placements were rolling perfectly fast, 12 on the stimp.
Good day at a fun coarse.
A good course getting better
Pinelands is improving under new ownership. Still some to go, but a noticeable improvement over my last visit (2019). The course is in good hands and will soon be on my regular play list.
Getting better
After aeration, the course seems to be coming back nicely. Rough is not great, fairways and tee boxes are ok, great were smooth and fast. All in all, good price for the conditions.
Great upgrades
Course is in the normal process of aerating but is still absolutely playable. Many upgrades to the course with a lot more to come in the future. Great staff and amenities
The perfect storm
Couldn’t get any worse than aerating the front 9 and being “blended” into play with a groups of 25 guys. I don’t envy the starters job at all. He did as good a job as you could get with all things considered.
My only complaint was pin placement on 18. The absolute worst place on the green, sloped away from the hole placed mid-way up the slope.
The tavern was great. Some beverages and lunch was all it took to forget the 18th hole.
Great potential
The greens and tee boxes were in excellent shape. The fairways are about a year from growing into the same. Lots of the approaches were playing like hardpan with a thin cover of grass. The rough was in tough shape in lots of areas. It was a tight track and many tree-lined, narrow tee shots. I hope to be able to come back and play when this course has grown in. The new owners are putting money into the course and it shows. The on-course staff was phenomenal, the starter was a little testy. Like I said, I love to play it again once the owners get the place in shape.
Great Round!
