Much improved
They advertise what they are doing. Last time I played the course was at least 5 years ago. The course was overgrown and not in good shape. Total 180• turn around. What prob impressed me the most was they actually had a ranger on a Tuesday(?) our carts were assigned to us by time. Simple things to make the round go smoother. No rakes or ball washers would be my only gripe but that’s prob the clubs stance with COVID. Food was great at restaurant. Will def be back.
Fun Course
Typical late summer course conditions, some tee boxes and fairways thinned out, but overall greens in good shape and fun to play.
No amenities on course. Ball wash water cooler bathroom. Few trash cans. Course itself was nice staff friendly and helpful
Pinelands updated
Price was good, pace was good but if you are trying to keep carts out of the woods, there are other ways less interactive with rangers and golfers. Suggest posting discrete signs and possibly telling golfers when they pay. We had a Ranger (seemingly) following our 4some for 3 holes. The 1st interaction was with me when I started looking for a pulled shot into the trees. Pulled shots happen but when he came up, his 1st comment was to inform me and my partner, no carts in the woods. I was hoping he saw where my ball went in so I could retrieve and play. Still had to look for my ball, just not in the cart. That doesn’t help if you’re trying to keep pace. Using the cart does help reducing time. Yeah I know, shoot better, and I wouldn’t be in the woods. Playing today with 1 possibly 2 cracked ribs, I guess I wasn’t at my best. Maybe I’ll cancel next time.
Admirable changes being made but the process needs to be sped up.
Greens in great shape. Too many bare spots and ground under repair on fairways.
Decent course
Overall enjoyed this course and would play again. Narrow fairways skirted on every hole by lots of trees. The starter told me they had taken a ton down and it's clear they've done a lot of work to limb and thin them – which made playing punch shots from them much more feasible.
Greens were narrow and challenging – need a solid shot to stick on most greens. Lots of slopes made them difficult to hold.
Length was reasonable with good drives including a par 4 that's reachable from the tee with a good draw.
Relatively flat given its proximity to the shore. Wind not really a factor.
Apparently they've been doing a lot of work on it, so I'm happy the course is as quality as it is now.
Hidden Gem
This course is under new ownership and you can tell that they really care. In just over a year of ownership, the greens and fairways are first class. Sure the rough needs a lot of work but you can’t fix everything overnight. In another year, this place could probably charge double and easily get it. Best deal of the year by far. I will definitely be back.
Improved from years ago.
Hadn't played this course in 10+ years. Always liked the
layout but course condition was so-so. Condition is much better now. Fairways nice and full but bare spots
abound if you miss the fairway. Greens slightly on slow side but in good shape and roll true. Is an excellent value
compared to many other courses we play and is worth the 45 minute ride to get to.
Good round. Conditions were good.
Course is looking good. Play was fast today. Good deal for the money.
The sand traps are like unranked litter boxes.
Too much unattended sand traps .
Like they just dumped a bunch of sand .
Pine lands 2021
Much better condition then last time pace of play wasn’t great greens tight had a great time would recommend for the money
Mel
Lots of on-going improvements. Course is in great condition.
