Still needs a lot of work
I have played this course at least 5 times this year. At first I felt the course at first was really up and coming with new owners , nice greens and pretty decent fairways til I played today...what a disappointment .The fairways were very thin with lots dead spots especially around the greens. Tee boxes were pretty beat up and the rough is basically dirt and the Sandra's are mostly dirt and stone. The greens are still nice but that's about it. Hopefully this fall and next spring they can get grass to grow

Fairways and greens excellent. T boxes, rough and sand traps need a little work. I have not played there for a couple of years. I see very good improvements. Keep up the good work. I'll be back.
Almost there
The course is working hard to imprOve conditions. There is lots of new grass that is beginning to make everything filled in and green again. Greens and tee boxes are good.
The staff is totally unhelpful. I fortunately have never pulled up to a club drop where workers look right at you and never offer to help with bags. They stand and chat and are ignorant . A little bit of courtesy would go a long way!!!!
Sloooow Play!!!!
Made it through 14 in 3.5 hours, not bad for a holiday, 15 minutes a hole. However, I proceeded to wait on the 15th tee for 20 minutes before taking my first shot. It took an average of 28 minutes to finish each of the last 4 holes, which includes a par 3.
Much Improved
If you haven't played Pinelands in a while. Try it , it is much improved and they are still making improvements. Turf management greatly improved.
Average
Course in good shape. Tree-lined fairways, but very wide. Biggest challenge is greens on the small aide. Lots of puttable areas from the fringe. Most holes are pretty straight.
Didn’t like how they checked us in. Didn’t assign a cart until we were on the tee box. Also, we were told going out that it was cartpaths and rough only. Ranger came out and said something about where we were driving in the treeline looking for a ball. Not sure what the issue was still. No guides as to where hole is cut. No map and all flags are red.
I like it
Recent rain kept things soft and slow. 75-80% tee to green. Greens are nice and smooth. Not too many divots. Keep up the good work players! And keep up the good work Pinelands! Would recommend and will return.
Where's the ranger?
This course has one of the best tracks in the area and is improving in its condition. My biggest complaint complaint is the pace of play. The group in front was a 3 ball that played multiple shots off the tee each hole. The grounds crew even acknowledged the issue and said they'd alert the ranger. When we came across the ranger he couldn't be bothered because he was talking on the phone...on the golf course...in the middle of a hole...and was talking about golf! Ridiculous lack of courtesy so I hope this is improved.
First time back on The Pinelands in 35 years. Would return as I believe the new owners & family have taken this course to a better level and it can become a terrific hidden gem to enjoy a day of golf,. For a very fair price, you get a round of golf with your friends whether your a seasoned player or just learning.

Slow pace of play
Great job on course improvements. Greens are beautiful but cut long and very slow. Pace of play needs to be enforced better throughout the course.
A fabulous day of golf @ Pinelands
After a day of Hurricane Henri rain and then more rain in the morning, our foursome tee’d off and enjoyed a wonderful-coarse layout exceptional greens and a friendly staff. Can’t wait to return as this is a hidden gem with great value .
Course has potential. Needs more TLC. Seems like they are trying.
Still needs work. Greens are slow but good condition. Fairways are ok, areas need work. Bunkers need help. If your off the fairway, you've got problems.
Always loved this course still needs some work starters supper friendly but the guys in the pro shop are a little rude they act like it’s a private club
