A good course getting better
Pinelands is improving under new ownership. Still some to go, but a noticeable improvement over my last visit (2019). The course is in good hands and will soon be on my regular play list.
Getting better
After aeration, the course seems to be coming back nicely. Rough is not great, fairways and tee boxes are ok, great were smooth and fast. All in all, good price for the conditions.
Great upgrades
Course is in the normal process of aerating but is still absolutely playable. Many upgrades to the course with a lot more to come in the future. Great staff and amenities
The perfect storm
Couldn’t get any worse than aerating the front 9 and being “blended” into play with a groups of 25 guys. I don’t envy the starters job at all. He did as good a job as you could get with all things considered.
My only complaint was pin placement on 18. The absolute worst place on the green, sloped away from the hole placed mid-way up the slope.
The tavern was great. Some beverages and lunch was all it took to forget the 18th hole.
Great potential
The greens and tee boxes were in excellent shape. The fairways are about a year from growing into the same. Lots of the approaches were playing like hardpan with a thin cover of grass. The rough was in tough shape in lots of areas. It was a tight track and many tree-lined, narrow tee shots. I hope to be able to come back and play when this course has grown in. The new owners are putting money into the course and it shows. The on-course staff was phenomenal, the starter was a little testy. Like I said, I love to play it again once the owners get the place in shape.
Great Round!
Still needs a lot of work
I have played this course at least 5 times this year. At first I felt the course at first was really up and coming with new owners , nice greens and pretty decent fairways til I played today...what a disappointment .The fairways were very thin with lots dead spots especially around the greens. Tee boxes were pretty beat up and the rough is basically dirt and the Sandra's are mostly dirt and stone. The greens are still nice but that's about it. Hopefully this fall and next spring they can get grass to grow
Alot Bettet
Fairways and greens excellent. T boxes, rough and sand traps need a little work. I have not played there for a couple of years. I see very good improvements. Keep up the good work. I'll be back.
Almost there
The course is working hard to imprOve conditions. There is lots of new grass that is beginning to make everything filled in and green again. Greens and tee boxes are good.
The staff is totally unhelpful. I fortunately have never pulled up to a club drop where workers look right at you and never offer to help with bags. They stand and chat and are ignorant . A little bit of courtesy would go a long way!!!!
Sloooow Play!!!!
Made it through 14 in 3.5 hours, not bad for a holiday, 15 minutes a hole. However, I proceeded to wait on the 15th tee for 20 minutes before taking my first shot. It took an average of 28 minutes to finish each of the last 4 holes, which includes a par 3.
