Green Crest Golf Club
About
Green Crest Golf Club is a player-friendly course located in Middletown. The course was designed in 1972, offering a traditional layout with wide, forgiving fairways and short roughs. The golf course is on the shorter side at 6,271 yards from the back tees, which is indicative of the time it was designed. Strategically placed bunkers lurk along the medium-sized greens on six holes and there are water hazards coming into play on eight holes, but the challenges are straightforward and don't present too much trouble for high handicappers. It might not be the golf course you're looking for if you want a truly formidable test, but it's a good option if you're looking for a quick and affordable round. Green Crest Golf Club is ideal for beginners and even gentle enough for juniors.

Harder than it looks
Greens had some ruff spots some holes that are to long for a par 4, no water, no ball cleaners.
Course Great - GolfNow Sucks
Originally tried to make an appointment @ Brown's Run. It allowed me to click make confirm tee time. I did and immediately got a message tee time not available on the screen. Then received a text message of a $2.49 convenience fee. Checked Brown's Run website and none of the ones GolfNow had listed were N/A. I then chose Green Crest. Then was charged $9.98 for some reason.
Never again.
Long
A number of holes a par 4 and over 400 yards long making a par hard or impossible.
Great course at Green Crest
Wasn't very crowded. Played 18 in less than 4 hours, no waiting. Course is in nice shape with fast greens even though it rained the night before.(90 degrees crossing) I'd highly recommend and will be returning as soon as I can!
Excellent Golf Value--Excellent Conditioned Course
The fairways were lush and fairways groomed. Greens were smooth and fast (9-10 on stimp?). Flat, but the many trees lining most fairways called for straight shots and some "less-than-driver" tee shots required on some long par-fours. Great golfing experience and paid only $36 on Golfnow. Will definitely play here again.
Pretty Good Option
Pros
1. Great shape overall.
2. Rough wasn't as punishing as some places
3. Greens are in excellent condition.
4. Fairly easy to get to.
Cons
1. Some of the tees are a little hard.
2. Greens, while in excellent shape, are fairly small. Roll offs are pretty common, although the fringe is certainly more putt-able than a lot of other places.
3. The par assignments don't always make a lot of sense. On the front 9 for example, two holes with about the same yardage, but one is a par 5 and the second a par 4. And at least IMO the par 4 is harder than the par 5 because of the water placement. I'd say make them both 4 or both 5.
4. Some spots have some pretty significant road noise. Doesn't other me but at least one other person I play with doesn't like it for that reason.
Minor concerns though overall. Good value with the Golf Now deals.
Fun course
Good pace of play, nice condition for the course, staff very friendly. Good time at Green Crest which is typically the case. Will play here again when the opportunity presents itself.
Good for money
Course was in pretty good shape, decent facility, friendly staff. Only downside was there were about 3 groups waiting to tee off at the same time so got stuck waiting the first 6 holes until the groups ahead of us spread out a bit
Nice conditioned fairways, excellent greens
Fairways lush and greens are smooth and about 10 on Stemp. Narrow fairways and lots lots of trees require straight tee shots. Can go with less thst driver on most holes, but a couple of real long (460 yds+) par 4s do require driver.
Flat, but enough water and trees to punish errant shots. Very enjoyable and challen
ging round. We played "Blue tees", at just over 6,000 yds, but don't let that seemingly short length fool you. Fast and often "mounded" greens will frustrate approach shots. Will play again.
