About
Sugar Isle Golf Course was designed by Jack Kidwell, a familiar name among southern Ohio golf courses. Water is a prominent feature of the course, Kidwell incorporated it on more than half of the holes. Some 20 white sand bunkers are strategically placed throughout the layout, providing a scenic contrast to the water and lush greens. For an added challenge, many of the fairways are lined with mature trees although there is some room for error, which makes them more accessible. It is a course that will make you think but it is not too intimidating for beginners. The versatility makes it popular for outings and tournaments. Sugar Isle has even hosted the area's high school programs for more than 30 years. In addition to the golf course, there is also a driving range and large putting green.

Pick the course at random on my journey to Virginia, and was pleasantly surprised. Nice course, nice layout,with some very interesting holes. Enjoyed it,and would love the opportunity to play it again.
Geese are out of control
There were several greens that we just picked up and took a two put because of the amount of goose droppings
Greens are great
Course was very busy, but pace moved along It was 4 hours to play 18 Greens were fantastic Had my all time best putting round
Heat wave
Course is in really good condition. During this heatwave the course has remained in excellent condition. Staff should be congratulated on the work they have done to stay on top of this. Front desk staff are very friendly. Overall I thoroughly enjoy playing here. Greens have great speed and roll true. If you’re looking for a nice course at a fair price look no further.
Great course
What a turn around! Great course, greens were well maintained and a good challenge, right amount of trees for your average +15 handicap, still find greens when missing fairway.

Facility was in good shape. Pace was ok. Always have a good time playing there. Highly recommended.
Tricky Greens
Interesting layout, with severely undulating greens on many holes. Good thing the greens are receptive and are not overly fast. A good mix of doglegs in both directions, and straight holes. Par 3's are challenging and all different lengths. Personally i think the slope is underrated from the whites. Can easily be walked as not too many hills, nor long distances between tee boxes. Carts are not in the best of shape, nor are the cart paths. And the tunnel between 14 and 15 is only a couple of inches wider than the cart.
