Windy Knoll Golf Club

I was pleasantly surprised at the course. It was a fun layout. Pace was a little slow but nothing terrible. Greens were fast.

Beautiful course! Greens were smooth and consistent. Running about 8 on the meter. Tee boxes were in some of the best shape I’ve played in a while. Always love playing this course! Be back soon!

I’d say play this 2-3 times per year it’s a nice track and they do keep the greens and fairways nice.

This cart paths are in need of repairs but if they are going to skimp that’s the place to do it. Staff is very nice. I line this course a lot.

Visiting from Florida, this is a nice public course to play. Greens in good shape and fairways in good shape. Some bunkers are hard pan. I would highly recommend this course. I will be back.

The only criticism I have for windy knoll is their lack of sand in their sand traps. They do have sand but it is not quite deep enough to play a proper sand shot. When your club BOTTOMS OUT hitting the soil is not a good thing. It seemed as though quite a few twosomes played our day and it never really got going as it usually does. Everything considered it was a great day on a great course. Glad the new owners chose to purchase this course and are putting money into it. Golfnow usually has a good price for this nice layout.

I snagged the 4th spot and played with a friend and 2 men I had never met. I had a blast and had my best round of the year, an 81. I had 2 penalty strokes and missed 4 to 5 putts I should have made, or it would have been better.

The course was in good shape. I few of the holes were a little soggy so there may be some drainage issues in a few places. I interacted with staff in the clubhouse, the starter and one of the maintenance crew and everyone was very friendly and willing to share information. Some of the bunkers were wet and compacted (fortunately I avoided them all day) but the starter told me they would be replacing them over the next a few years with new rebuilds with better drainage and new sand.

Pace of play was good: the carts had GPS units that were very useful for us but they also allow the starter to monitor cart positions on the course. He told me when they see groups falling behind that they reach out to the carts via messaging or personal visit. The starter did talk about pace of play before we started. While we didn't have any issues or see notification in action they do seem to care about pace of play. Tee times were 10 minutes apart.

Pro Tip: No carts allowed in the parking lot but the cart path runs along the back side of the lot. If you back into one those spaces you can pretty much drive right up to the back of your car to unload and pack up.

It's been raining a lot, but despite that the course was in great shape. Even the greens still rolled faster than we expected. Pace of play was fine. My friends and I really appreciated the value we received and the friendly staff.

It was a very good time after we played through 3 extremely slow women golfers at the turn. People need to learn some golf etiquette.

They flipped the holes which is fine. Doesn't really matter. Staff is always very nice. My tee time was 7:30am & they let me go out as a single at 7:00am. Good layout. Fee range balls since they're under new management too which was nice.

Greens and tees and fairways in good shape. Bunkers in good shape. I am not a fan of them letting the natural areas grow wild, it looks a little unkempt and weedy for my liking. Although I get the idea of it.

Played this course many time and still love it every time. Greens were a little rough from ball marks. Pace of play was slow but it was the weekend. 5 hours. Great course! Will definitely be back!
