Sugar Isle Golf Course
About
Sugar Isle Golf Course was designed by Jack Kidwell, a familiar name among southern Ohio golf courses. Water is a prominent feature of the course, Kidwell incorporated it on more than half of the holes. Some 20 white sand bunkers are strategically placed throughout the layout, providing a scenic contrast to the water and lush greens. For an added challenge, many of the fairways are lined with mature trees although there is some room for error, which makes them more accessible. It is a course that will make you think but it is not too intimidating for beginners. The versatility makes it popular for outings and tournaments. Sugar Isle has even hosted the area's high school programs for more than 30 years. In addition to the golf course, there is also a driving range and large putting green.

Great course and great price
The course was really good for the money and the staff were beyond amazing. Would highly recommend!
Solid course
Played my round in about 2.5 hours. Green =s were in great shape, but fairway rough needed mowed. Lost 3 balls just off of the fairway and grass clippings everywhere. Other than that, I will play this course again.
Great course
Course was in very good condition. I played here some years ago and the course was how I remembered it
Sugar Isle is much improved
New pro shop and bathrooms were a nice surprise. The course and greens are in excellent condition. Overall, it was a much better experience than a year ago.
Condition
The course is in really great condition. Got paired up with a couple guys who we didn’t know, but they were a lot fun really enjoyed it. That’s not always the case for those of you that have had that experience you know what I mean. Highly recommend the course. One thing that would make it better is if they had newer carts. Just not sure they would fit through the tunnel though cause it is extremely narrow the carts they have rub down both sides when you’re going through.
Good morning round of golf
Pace was good, nobody holding us up. The greens look great, rolled true. I just wish they were a little quicker. The fairways are filling in nicely, the rough was a little long, but playable, as the grounds crews were working to get them mowed. Sands traps were ok for dirt/sand bunkers. Overall the course was in pretty good shape. Would love to see the ponds dredged and cleaned out some day. Several were covered in moss already. I’d love to see them look like they did years ago!
Nice
Nice country course. Municipal level. Greens were firm and fast. Fairways were alright, a little fuzzy for me. Rough was heavy in most areas. Marking and direction between holes wasn't great. Especially going from 9 to 10 nothing! Clubhouse ok at best, didn't expect much anyway. Pace of play was at 4.5 hours or so. Groups were nice about letting me play through more than once. Busy day, looked like a lot of local play. Mix of walkers and riders. The tunnel that goes to 15 and returns from 18 is ridiculous, it is a 1/4" wider than the golf cart, it just doesn't make sense. The 9th hole is a very nice par three, island green. Par 5's are back to back on the front a little odd. Overall it is a fun little course for $20 on GN. Give it a shot. Will play again.
Great place to play
Fairways and greens are in good shape. Open play for the most part, not too many trees
