Excellent shape
This course is in Superb condition! Tricky greens, great fairways, usually is wide open, pace of play for 2 of us was less than 3.5 hours. Teed off at 1045 and finished at 145. That's only longer due to a foursome who thought they were playing on PGA tour! Staff wasn't all that friendly, but could've just been a bad day. Overall great value!
Women friendly!!
This course, despite the rain, was very challenging n fun especially for a woman golfer! I appreciate women friendly courses! Had a great time here!
Great Shape for the Money
Not overly challenging for the novice golfer but enough to provide a great experince.
Annual treat
I look forward to playing a round or two at bbcc every year. Course is well cared for and offers different shot opportunities.
Average Course, Good if you can get a Deal
Pretty average course. Fairly open, not too difficult, but with some tough placements on hazards. Would be a great place to bring someone who isn't the best player, as it is fairly open and not too long. Decent shape. Fun course, but nothing spectacular. Definitely worth it if you can get a good deal.
Solid course for the money
Course was in good shape and a great value for the money. The greens rolled nicely but tricky at times. The course is short from a yardage standpoint but still challenges your game and will penalize your bad shots.
Never a Bad Choice
Long course w/ challenging par 3's. Have never played here and thought it was in poor condition. Has a little bit of everything you want in a golf course.
Great possibilities when dried out
Because of the wet fairways, the course was hard to play, and the wind conditions didn't help either. Definitely going to play again in better conditions. The scenery is awesome and the challenges are great. My partner had a hole in one and that was great.
great greens, many challenging holes, great lay out.
like the course, great price for the money. very nice greens.
Old Style Parkland Layout
Older layout with smaller greens, the few holes that do have larger greens are the tougher to putt as they have some serious undulations, #9 and #12 come to mind. The fairways are tree lined but not tight. The rough is cut at a manageable height. Holes 1,2,3 have a tendency to have players in the wrong fairway, due to the fact that all three of them are doglegs, and a little close together. BBCC is definitely a course that I will play more than once in a season.
A wonderful course!
The course has its challenges. It was in very good shape, especially for late September. The greens putted true, and the fairways were in good shape.
I have played this course before with TeeTime and was especially happy to get a cheaper tee time with Golfnow.com.
Older Parkland Course
Barberton Brookside is an older, parkland style, golf course. Many of the holes have rolling fairways and a couple have a serious slant. Many of the greens have are slanted back to front, so the ball usually needs to be kept below the flag stick. All said, the course is challenging, fun to play and a good value.
Great value.
This is an older course and it is open and easy to play at any skill level. The course was in great condition and the price was very low. My friends and I had a fun time playing and will definately play again the next time we are in town.
Tough greens
Course was not overly difficult. However, the greens are brutal! Very fast with many undulations. Fairways are packed close together so errant tee shots are still playable from adjacent fairways. Enjoyed playing once but day was too slow since they let a five some go out in front of us that walked!
good course with great greens
Very friendly and courteous staff. Solid course tee to green, pro-style putting experience. Great sandwiches.
Pleasure
What a nice golf course very friendly staff and a pleasure to golf on a well maintain course, planning on going back very soon
Well maintained and in great condition.
I last played BBCC more than 13 years ago, before we moved to SC. This round was during a return visit and I can honestly say hats off to the course owner and superintendent. I can see where they have spent some money and improved not only the look but the play of the course, without any changes to the course layout. The BBCC will certainly be on my playlist for future visits to the Akron area.
Was once a beauty
Although the course is maintained now with good greens, the course used to have many more bunkers. Still this is a nice test with a good variety of holes. You'll have to use a lot of clubs and play some uphill, downhill, and sidehill lies. All in all a nice little number to take on!
Country Club Feel
This course plays like a country club. Its an old type country club that makes you feel like you've stepped into the past to play golf. Very nicely groomed with flowers and all. I was visiting the area from out of town and If I'm ever in the area again , I'd love to play it again. Good thing is , there was no singles or twosomes wanting to play through. I hate that ! It makes your round longer , always letting people play through.
Good course
Haven't played this course for many years...greens were in great shape and rolled nicely. Played behind a small outing slow front nine..gave them some space on the back and it played on a better pace. Pretty open course. Good value..
