The Pines
Always have a great experience on the course and the staff is great.
Give it a shot, you won’t be disappointed
We have played The Pines for years, and are rarely disappointed by course condition, and when we are it’s generally weather-related. The challenges include some narrow fairways, which are tree-lined. The course holes present a mix of hills, water and flat. Nice course for any level of golfer.
I really liked the course, but they had an outing going on. I cruised through the first 12 holes and then play was backed up due to a 4 man scramble. The woman working at the pro shop was vert nice and gave me a rain check for 9 holes. I think someone messed up and didn't block off times to accommodate the outing. I got 21 holes for the price of 18, so I have that going for me.
Long or short
This course is a challenge from all tees. Be you old or young , play the correct tees and you will like this course. Play the stud card and your score will suffer.
Very Bad
I only spent $20 on a round here and it was $15 more than what I should have. Cups look old, fairways were overgrown, tee boxes were overgrown and greens were slow at best. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!
Excellent green conditions
Course is in great shape, I played different course last week and 16 greens were mostly mud. Fairways also had grass to play off of and were in great shape. The staff is very friendly and went out of their way to work around an outing that also was the same day. Snack shop has very reasonable prices.
Great value
This course was great. We were the only ones out there golfing, which is great when you like to play fast. The course was sopping wet, but well maintained. I was impressed from last time I was there.
Good sunday
Course was in great shape. Little slow in pace but that's expected on a Sunday. Overall loved my day out there
Great $$$ Value
Paid for 18 hole Hot Deal but only played 9 on lunch hour. Played in under an hour, staff extremely friendly and course was quite nice for being late November. Will play there again.
Beautiful day met with some disappointment
We got a great deal on GolfNow. It was a gorgeous day. When we arrived we were told to play the front nine twice due to the back undergoing aerating. That was disappointing to hear as there was no notice prior to booking at this course.
The front nine was nice. It is a good course to play.
ok course
The fairways where not in the greatest of shape, but to be fail, the weather has not been great this summer. Greens where not too bad. This is a good course for a high handicapper. The par 4's are reachable for the most part.
good tee time for a good price
I found a good tee time for a good price and would do it again. Mostly average conditions other than the greens. They were above average. I did run into a 5-some and couples night. but it is hard to complain about pace of play when you are playing as a onesome.
An above average public course, about 3.5 stas
Arrived at the Pines while a high school match was beginning, and pro shop gladly suggested we play the back 9 first. Played in slightly over 3 hours. Lots of similar holes, dogleg left, then next hole was a dogleg right.
Front 9 was a little more varied, #8 is a real nice par 5. Greens were in great shape, but a little slower than other courses we have played. A few burned out fairway spots, due to the recent lack of rainfall.
Not quite a 4 rating, but a good, solid 3+
Good Course
The Pines is tucked away in Orrville Ohio. The price was reasonable & they have weekly specials. A couple of fairways suffered some damage over the Winter & the sand traps are in bad shape. Overall the maintenance crew does a good job mowing the grass & I will definitely at here again as I live nearby. They have League's & outings but otherwise the course doesn't get that crowded. They also have a driving range & a pitch & putt area.
The course has a new grounds crew superintendent & he is taking steps to improve the fairways & bunkers. I think you will see several improvements over the next few months.
First time here
We went on a busy July 4th weekend and it turned out to be a great course. I enjoyed all of the trees banking both sides of the fairways and the greens play fairly well. Course played a little slow because of the volume of people playing that day. I will definitely go back.
Did not see a Marshall at all
Did not see a Marshall at all on the coarse. Golfers was hitting more than 1 ball. Lack of supervision.
Great Course
Great course, just don't understand the mowers on every hole even after noon. Got to get that done early
Can't go wrong
I've been out close to twice a week this summer. I've played the pines 4 times, and it's a steal for the conditions of the course. From tee box to fairways to greens you don't have to worry about anything being torn up it's always in great shape.
Course Knowledge is Key
This course is a pretty challenging place to play as there were trees everywhere as well as a lot of doglegs. I was on the 3rd hole (par 5) and was 170 yards away after my tee shot. I hit my 2nd shot to where it would run up on the green. As we drove up to the ball, I saw a small stream of water that was right in front of the green. It was a great day but it would have been nice to know that.
I'm sorry you were disappointed in the condition of the course. We really do work hard to keep the course in good playing condition. I think if you give us a second chance you will see that the course has improved. I don't believe many people who play the course would agree with your review.
