About
Hueston Woods Golf Course sprawls across over 260 acres of lush, rolling terrain. It plays to a beastly length of just over 7,000 yards from the back tees. Jack Kidwell, a designer who had a hand in many of Ohio's finest courses, created the course. It borders hundreds of acres of beech and maple forests that are accented with colorful wildflowers and provide a home to the area's wildlife. Kidwell utilized this rich and beautiful landscape to mold a scenic and challenging design. The layout features large, wildly undulating greens bordered by over 30 strategically placed bunkers. Four ponds also come into play on several holes and golfers will also have stands of mature trees to contend with. Hueston Woods' signature hole is the par-3 16th. This 175-yard hole requires a demanding carry over water.

Course had a challenging layout on a perfect day. Great pace of play
Awesome Greens, as usual
Hueston Woods is a classic tree lined golf course outside the college town of Oxford, Ohio. In the summer, the course is rarely crowded because most of the students are gone. For a state parks course, I have no idea how the greens staff consistently keep the greens running smooth and fast. The greens have lots of tiers and on a given day certain pin placements can be devilish. I don't know anyone who has ever played Hueston Woods who didn't like the course.
The off course amenities are slim, especially the food and beverage, but there is a driving range.
Hueston Woods in July
Beautiful park setting and challenging course. Decent shape for a state park run course with friendly staff. It is worth the travel time. Good value.
Glory of Golf:
Hueston Woods is my favorite golf course for several reasons three are listed below:
1) The course design allows for a great challenge while the scenic surroundings provide a joyous trip through the terrain.
2) The course is maintained and serviced by a well trained friendly staff.
3) The course location is out of any urban area pollution; located on State of Ohio park property.

Course has character with excellent rolling greens.
The golf staff is very accommodating and friendly Since the course opened back in the60's I have played it 70 times. I never get tired of playing the challenging but fair track. I look forward to playing Hueston Woods many more times. SteveRaabe
Beautiful, tree lined, hilly course. Loved the par threes over water. Number 11 has a small hidden pond in front of the green. Lost a ball.
This course is somewhat challenging. Had a good day.
Still early. Greens are somewhat rough but coming along. Enjoy playing here. Had the course to ourselves today due to rain earlier.
In Great Shape
Greens and smooth and fast. Fairways are in mid season form. The course has improved due to the removal of trees helping speed of play and just helping the grass grow.
Fine course, but they should have closed for the season
I came out hoping for a nice round on a beautiful fall day. Instead I found a course that looked like it was closed. If you're going to stay open, folks, you have to keep it mowed and rolled and raked and everything. And by the way, cart paths are in deplorable shape. I have played here for years, once or twice a year, and always found it in first-class condition. This time it was not. Maybe next year.

Hueston Woods
Hueston has always been a favorite. Played on a 'hot deal' from golf now. Front nine greens recently plugged, back side greens good. Greens looked slow but were quick. Fairways in good condition. Personnel were excellent. They lost a lot of trees which gives the course a different look, and made it a bit easier than when they were there. 4 sets of tees for everyone. Enjoyed my round. Will always go back.

Fast and Smooooooth Greens
Our group usually visits Hueston Woods once a year, and yesterday was our day. The greens were the F-A-S-T-E-S-T they have ever been in the last 25 years. And they rolled perfectly true too. Since our group putts everything out, and we have lots of games going, we really value the quality of the greens. The fairways and tees were in their normal good condition. It's so quiet there... if you are annoyed by total silence, this is not the course for you. We started around noon, and it seemed we had the course to ourselves. The experience was so good, that we are going back soon - even though we pass close to at least 8 other courses on the way.
Had a great round, even in the rain showers we played through three times this round
It was fun to play the course.
