About
Windmill Lakes Golf Club consistently ranks as one of the best courses in the state and is definitely the top golf course in northeastern Ohio. Located in Ravenna, it is the home course for the men's and women's golf teams at Kent State, which is only six miles east of the club. The large, undulating greens are the layout's defining feature. The greens also have a reputation for being some of the best-maintained in the area, allowing them to roll fast and true. The fairways, tee boxes, and rough also boast the same great conditions. More than 50 bunkers are strategically placed throughout the golf course and there are seven lakes that provide water hazards. The Windmill Lakes layout, which measures to just under 7,000 yards, only has two par 5s but there are several long par 4s that demand accurate drives and strong iron play.

Great course
Course was in great condition, nice layout, firm greens , GPS on carts - golf paradise !!!!
Enjoyable Outing with Spouse
After a week of questionable weather, the forecast was for a “picture perfect day” and I was able to secure a tee time for my wife and myself to get in 9-holes. Conditions, course and staff were above approach. Though we were a twosome following a threesome following a foursome, pace of play was ideal (course knows how to pace groups).
Windmill Lakes - June 2018
Windmill Lakes is a mature, exceptionally maintained and a good test of golf. Windmill cut down over 200 trees which opened up the course. It was a well thought out move and was overdue.
There a 4 sets of tees. Fairways are lush and the rough is manageable. The greens are big, undulated and putt true. Some sand traps could use some work, however overall they are good.
The staff in the grill room are very friendly and efficient. Some of the staff in the clubhouse have an elitist air to them and do not come off as friendly. There are a few exceptions, which is refreshing, however Windmill Lakes has always had this attitude as I have been golfing there for over 30years. I think it is the young dudes that bring a bit of arrogance naturally.
Overall, I highly recommend Windmill Lakes. One of the Top 5 public golf courses in NE Ohio in my opinion.

The course was in excellent condition. Fast greens, healthy fairways. This is a great layout. Very challenging.
Tremendous course
The course is challenging yet fair, The greens are very large and tough. Enjoyed the round very musch and will return soon.
One of the best
Simply one of the best courses around. Always great condition, love the GPS in the carts, and I’ve never had pace of play issues here. Highly recommend
Excellent Value; Hidden Gem
First time playing this course. I will totally be returning. This is a great little course hidden in the woods of Ravenna. Entire course is well-maintained and challenging for all skill levels. Sand traps beware! ;)
Windmill lakes
Course was really wet. but that is mother nature’s fault not the course. Layout was fun with lots of challenging shots .greens were very fast . Pace of play was great In and out in less than 4 hours .
Great course
One of the best courses for the value in NE Ohio and one of the most challenging.
Numerous trees have been removed in order to speed up play that will make it even better to play once the weather makes a change for the better.
Despite still being in winter conditions even though the calendar says spring, the course was in great shape.
This course is always fun to play!
It was one of the first nice days weather wise to get out and enjoy some golf. The staff is really nice and it's always fun to play!

For April 13th and the terrible weather the course was in pretty good shape. They removed a bunch of trees so there's still some clean up to be done, but always a good course.
Great greens
Windmill Lakes is a long course for an older golfer. I consider it somewhat boring as most of the holes are straight away. The greens, on the other hand, are some of the most fun and challenging I have ever putted on.
I absolutely would recommend you pay Windmill Lakes at least once, and if you like it and are a long hitter return often. The price we paid was a winter rate special after Thanksgiving . The course is ALWAYS in great shape and kept up well. I do not recommend it when the weather is wet though.
