About
Windmill Lakes Golf Club consistently ranks as one of the best courses in the state and is definitely the top golf course in northeastern Ohio. Located in Ravenna, it is the home course for the men's and women's golf teams at Kent State, which is only six miles east of the club. The large, undulating greens are the layout's defining feature. The greens also have a reputation for being some of the best-maintained in the area, allowing them to roll fast and true. The fairways, tee boxes, and rough also boast the same great conditions. More than 50 bunkers are strategically placed throughout the golf course and there are seven lakes that provide water hazards. The Windmill Lakes layout, which measures to just under 7,000 yards, only has two par 5s but there are several long par 4s that demand accurate drives and strong iron play.

Exceptional golf course
Every time I play this course I find more reasons to like it.
A must play!
Great course overall. Staff very knowledgeable and friendly. Best carts in portage county with GPS.

Course best described as a very solid layout.. Not tricked up and a shot makers course. A course worth the trip.. Here me Akron and points South?
Always Enjoyable
One of my favorite courses in the area. The course is always in great shape. One of the best courses to play for the cost. Will definitely return in the future.
Good, but...
Second time playing this course. Played in a scramble last year so this was the first time on my own ball. The challenging part of the course when I played was some fairly devious pin placements right behind traps. Okay if you're a 10 or below handicap. Pretty difficult for 11-plus or so. The other difficult was that the greens were very hard. I hit full wedges in on a few holed that barely left a ball mark. Good for keeping the greens looking good but difficult when trying to stop a ball. Two times I git wedges to the green when I "heard" the ball hit the green. I don't think I should be able to "hear" a ball hit the ground from over 100 years away. Good value for the money. Pace was okay. I was a single and got stuck behind two different groups for a hole or so but they were gracious in letting me play through.
One of the Best around
Course was in great shape, weather was perfect, staff as always was very friendly. Greens rolled true couldn't ask for a better option to play.

This course is awesome! It does not have a bad hole on it... you really have to hit shots on this one... greens are like glass!..i was in the area for a golf trip with 12 guys but 4 of us slipped to windmill lakes one afternoon...just to see if it was good... I'm sure that we will be adding it to our list next year... two of the guys I told about it actulay stayed an extra nite so they could go check it out ....
Always in great shape
great course always in great shape. The course was very busy and lacked a ranger to get after a slow group. ii callesd the clubhouse and got right on it.
Great Course...but Slow
This is one of my favorite courses in Cleveland. I play it a few times a month. However, it is been extremely slow the last few times I have played. After 2 1/2 hours for nine holes, I left without playing the back nine.
Great Course
Maybe the nicest course I've set foot on in Northeast Ohio.... I will definitely be playing here again!
good golf course
Very good golf course. The only complaint I have is the upstairs club house has a foul odor. This is not the first time I noticed this. My friend that I was with also noticed the smell.
pace of play horrible
this was the second time I played this course. the pace of play was horrible again. took almost 3 hours to play 9. left at the turn and payed for 18. I will never play there again. we waited on every tee and had to wait before every shot. not sure what the issue is but won't happen again for me. sad because the course itself is really nice.
Par for the course
I've been playing this course since the early 80's.
It is my "go to" course of choice. While it's obviously not Pebble Beach, it stands out as one of the best courses I've played public or private, and I've played many outstanding international courses over the last 40 years. I rate Windmill Lakes as not a Birdy or Eagle, but a solid Par. It is always in very good condition and has excellent length with good verity of tight and open holes. I highly recommend this course.
