Flying B Golf Course

While not advertised as a golf destination, I found the quality of play here to be as good as some higher profile tracks. Great conditions, small greens, and tight fairways. You won't lose many balls if you spray your shots, but there will be a heavy price to pay on the scorecard. Only complaint is lack of colored flags to represent hole placement means a range-finder is necessary equipment here. Considering the reasonably priced green fees, this place ranks as one of the greatest regional values in golf.

Course is in excellent condition. Greens are undulating and the rough is challenging. The upkeep of this course is immaculate. It is a great value for the cost. One of the nicer public courses I have played this summer.

I have played this course before always in great shape, gives golfers of all skill levels a chance to score well. The greens are always in good shape ball rolls well fairways always cut low and always green great course.

Great shape as always. Requires accuracy off the tee. Very Nice contoured fairways. Need to bring your short game too. Rough was thick. Very good test. Always worth the trip.

The course is always in great shape regardless of weather. It is extremely inexpensive with some great weekday specials, making this one of the best values in the area.

The signature hole is No. 10, an extremely challenging affair, over a lake, into a very narrow green.

It rained and the course was soaked that you had to putt though water it took about 1 hour or more for the greens to dry up with out putting though water! Other than that it was good

Did not know what to expect but was very surprised and happy at the course condition very playable I must play again before the year is over.

We play Flying B three-four times a year. We've played here for probably 30 years. The course is always well maintained and the value unbeatable.

Course was in great shape. Greens were pure. Scenic t peaceful track. Excellent value for money. Could use a new club house and pro shop with expanded food options.

Perfect shape as always. Had 2 groups of 4, separate tee times the staff let us put them together. Not to mention the snack bar girls are very easy on the eyes.

Course well maintain and great to play on.

The course is groomed nice. The greens putt true. There are some challenging holes.

This course is a bit ouf the way from, well, just about everywhere. That being said the course was well worth the drive. Decent layout with fantastic greens. I would recommend this course to everyone, especially considering the hot times you can find online. #10 is a fun and challenging little hole. Relatively cheap beer prices as well.

Many courses provide a challenge based on distance alone and offer little else, but flying b offers a course where holes are unique, and gives an average driver playing white tees a chance to make good shots and score well based on more than just distance. That doesn't mean the course is short either, especially with three longer par 3s and a par 5 on the back with one or the narrowest greens I have played, along with hole 10 that features a second shot to a tiny green from a dogleg left that needs to avoid water on the right side.

Overall conditions are great, I am giving the course a pass for aerating as its necessary this time of year. My only complaint is that the course is 50 minutes away.

There had been an inch or so rain over night and course was playable. Fairways were awesome and rough was a fair challenge. You can tell they take fantastic care of this course. the only thing I could suggest is yardage markers.. Greens are extremely good and fair.

The course was in very good shape for this time of year. The fairways and greens were in excellent shape. The layout was decent, with a few holes presenting a challenge (#10 green layout ; #12 fairway layout). There were two tee boxes with the sprinklers on while we were trying to tee off, and no grounds crew to tend the sprinklers... not good! Will definitely play this curse again. You get a lot of bang for your buck.

this is a beautiful golf course well worth the money

We were playing Mill Creek and I told one of the starters there that we were staying in Salem for the week. He stated that there was a course there called the "Flying B" that was "a diamond in the rough", greens were excellent cond. and fairways were super! It was cart path only because of all the rain lately, but he was so right, course is a MUST play and the price reasonable. Staff was SUPER, friendly, and a pleasure to talk to. Playing again tomorrow!
