Back nine is challeging
Course well maintain and great to play on.
flying B
The course is groomed nice. The greens putt true. There are some challenging holes.
The B
This course is a bit ouf the way from, well, just about everywhere. That being said the course was well worth the drive. Decent layout with fantastic greens. I would recommend this course to everyone, especially considering the hot times you can find online. #10 is a fun and challenging little hole. Relatively cheap beer prices as well.
Overall fantastic course
Many courses provide a challenge based on distance alone and offer little else, but flying b offers a course where holes are unique, and gives an average driver playing white tees a chance to make good shots and score well based on more than just distance. That doesn't mean the course is short either, especially with three longer par 3s and a par 5 on the back with one or the narrowest greens I have played, along with hole 10 that features a second shot to a tiny green from a dogleg left that needs to avoid water on the right side.
Overall conditions are great, I am giving the course a pass for aerating as its necessary this time of year. My only complaint is that the course is 50 minutes away.
A must play
There had been an inch or so rain over night and course was playable. Fairways were awesome and rough was a fair challenge. You can tell they take fantastic care of this course. the only thing I could suggest is yardage markers.. Greens are extremely good and fair.
flying B
Very nice very well-kept course fairways and approaches tight greens very good course was very crowded a group on each hole on the front only played 13 holes too slow
Good Course to Play
The course was in very good shape for this time of year. The fairways and greens were in excellent shape. The layout was decent, with a few holes presenting a challenge (#10 green layout ; #12 fairway layout). There were two tee boxes with the sprinklers on while we were trying to tee off, and no grounds crew to tend the sprinklers... not good! Will definitely play this curse again. You get a lot of bang for your buck.
well kept course
this is a beautiful golf course well worth the money
Diamond in the Rough
We were playing Mill Creek and I told one of the starters there that we were staying in Salem for the week. He stated that there was a course there called the "Flying B" that was "a diamond in the rough", greens were excellent cond. and fairways were super! It was cart path only because of all the rain lately, but he was so right, course is a MUST play and the price reasonable. Staff was SUPER, friendly, and a pleasure to talk to. Playing again tomorrow!
Great course in great shape
Love this course. It's always in good shape. Everyone is friendly!
Unbelievable value
Course was in excellent condition. Greens roll especially well. I did the prepaid "hot" deal and it was $15 a person on a holiday for 18 and a cart!!! Nice course!!!!!
Well Groomed Fairways Tight Greens fast
1st time Playing this course and what a plesant Surpise
evrything from the freindly staff to the tight fairways and Tough Greens . If I had to Say anything Negative it would be on Signage Heading to the Course, Good thing for my GPS. Beautiful Course 5 Stars
VERY VERY VERY SLOW PLAY!!
I do not recommend this golf course on a weekend. No rangers on the course and no starters at the 1st tee. Multiple groups with 5 in them caused very slow play and staff did nothing to break them up. Also no pro or Manager at the course for any support on the issue. Course is in great shape if you have 6 hours to play 18 holes on a Saturday or Sunday.
I would recommend this course to any of friends and family.
Great Course is in great shape and the layout of the course makes it a challenge to played.
exceptional course for low dough.
Well maintained course> fairways like carpet, quick fast greens.
Didnt expect much for $16 for 18 holes w/ cart [reg price $20-28].
My golf buddies and I were pleasantly surprised. A similar course in western PA would be $35-45 for weekday play and only a 30-45 minute drive from Beaver County, PA
Will be booking times here again, and again
Good value
A nice, traditional country-style golf course with well-kept tees, fairways, & greens and light rough make this a reasonable option for anyone looking to have an enjoyable round of golf.
Very nice course- great condition
Very good condition on fairway and green. One unforgettable hole - par 4 that has green by the water to the right and big down slope to the left next to green which you can not see from the fairway approach shot! Good value without the discount deal; with the deal from golfnow.com, it is a "must play" course. -an excellent deal for those that live within 1hr drive.
This course condition (green and fairway) on 7/20/2013 was excellent- slightly better than Candywood, Copeland Hill, Kensigton,. In term of the course difficulty, it is more difficult than Candywood, but less challenging than Copeland Hill, Kensington and Yankee Run (another good course, but no deal here).
nice greens. underdressed staff
upon my arrival the staff "2 girls, one with her chest hanging out , the other with her lower lady parts popping out of her pants" gave me a hassle about paying online with golfnow.com ... it took them 10 minutes to decide if we could play . and did not believe i paid online even though i had my receipt from this site. i wont go back... oh and it was 4$ for a hotdog and CAN of pop.. seriously???.. but the greens are some of the nicest/fastest around
Hidden gem
This track is one of the best maintained courses in our area. Has been a favorite for years. Elevated greens roll true. Friendly staff.
