Grantwood Golf Course
About
Grantwood Golf Course is one of the best golf values in the greater Cleveland area. The course sits next to Timberlake Recreation Park, a scenic park with a large fishing lake and picnic areas that are perfect for outdoor gatherings. The layout features small, undulating greens that are protected by more than 40 strategically placed bunkers. Water also comes into play on 10 holes in the form of a meandering creek and several ponds. The golf course is a challenging-but-fair test for players of all skill levels. Beginners and high handicappers won't be intimidated by long forced carries and won't have to worry about losing balls on every hole. Grantwood Golf Course sprawls across gently rolling terrain and the tees are in close proximity, making this a perfect layout for walking.

Very Nice
place was perfect love this course glad its close by
Grantwood
good practice course. par 3's are challenging and a GPS is needed to help determine club selection
A great public course.
Grantwood is one of my favorite NE Ohio courses. It has a variety of holes and approaches and is never boring. The course is very well kept. The greens have just enough relief to be interesting to put on. Most are not huge greens, so accurate approaches are needed.
The price is always reasonable, but was less due to winter conditions after Thanksgiving. I recommend that you try this course
ENJOYED PLAYING VERY MUCH, WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK NEXT SPRING TO PLAY UNDER BETTER CONDITIONS. WELL DESIGNED COURSE, WITH APPROPRIATE SIZE GREENS FOR THE APPROACH SHOTS. FAIRWAYS WERE GENEROUS BUT NEEDED TO PLACE YOUR SHOTS FOR APPROPRIATE APPROACH. GREENS ROLLED WELL AND WERE IN GREAT CONDITION FOR EARLY NOVEMBER. GREAT PRICE THROUGH GOLF NOW.
This course was in beautiful shape
Have played here many times before and the course conditions were excellent. The last time I played here, the pace of play was terrible slow. This time was different. Only had to wait a few times.
Nice course
Some traps were completely soaked you couldn’t hit out of, roughs were almost too short and dry it was like hitting off a rock at times.
Overall good shape I play the course often.
Hot Deal score "Big" with me!
Course is always in good shape, pace of play was good, staff, a little bossy but nice. Overall good time
Only went to practice...thankfully
Got a great deal of $16 to play....which is about 1/2 of what us residents pay at this city owned course. Just want to practice so it made this mediocre course in fair condition worth it.
pace of play
The couple (I was to play with them, but they teed off a few minutes before the designated tee time. What was the attendant doing?) ahead of me was a bit slow, which was frustrating. Other than that, the play was enjoyable. The course was fairly challenging to me, and I had fun.
A decent course
I was surprised to be able to play on Sunday @7:30 AM, then I thought it must be something wring, (e.g. the course was torn up, the greens were bad, or under construction, etc.). None of it all. It was very well kept and I am sure the amount of rain have helped as well. The greens were way better than what I remembered. For a city course, it is worth the money!
What a beautiful course
Really enjoyed this course. Beautiful fairways and the greens were in perfect shape. Staff was very professional and the starter was very personable. Had one problem. A couple in front of us backed us up all day. Below average woman player playing off the white tees and hitting 2 balls on many occasions. Reported to drink girl but never saw the starter. Long day.
Thank you for coming out and we do apologize for that! We hope to see you back!
I will play here again.
With the GolfNow deal it was cheaper than a bad course.
Typical GolfNow player rejection
80% of time golf courses treat GolfNow customers like second class citizens. Grantwood is no different. I wasn't paired w/ the 2 players that had my same time. Starter told me to wait & then disappeared 'till after my scheduled time. I ended up having to play the course back to front because of stacked up time that his actions put me in. Grounds crew in the way, just like on most courses these days. Play was slow due to the modern day hacks that take far too long to get around a course.
Tremendous Pro Shop
The staff at Grantwood are top notch. The pro shop is the best I've ever seen at a municipal course in Ohio or Pennsylvania. They carry a wide-range of gear, with excellent selections of putters, hats, shirts, and shoes in particular. They also carry full sets of women's and junior's clubs, for pricing better than I could find online.
Course has a nice layout
Course has a great layout for beginners & also a few challenging holes for better golfers. I play there several times every season and the course is always in at least good shape if not better even when getting a decent amount of rain.
First Time in Awhile
I haven't played Grantwood in a few years, but I couldn't pass up the deal. I'll be honest up front, this course has never really fit my eye, so I'm not a huge fan of the layout. However, pace of play was great (although weather may have something to do on the given day) but I've never had issues with it years ago either. The conditions were well above average as well. Greens were quick, but I was not a fan of the pin placements. It seemed like every putt was down hill, it would pick up speed at the cup and if you went past you'd have a 5 footer coming back. And they were tucked into corners of the greens. There's a couple longer holes (400+ par 4s) where a creek is right at 250 off the tee so there's not even a risk-reward option, it just takes the driver out of your hands, making a tough hole tougher. The number one handicap is only a tough hole b/c a tree blocks 80% of the tee box & fairway, and you can't hit driver b/c of a creek. Even with a fairway or hybrid you have to play a big fade or you'll be blocked out on the second as well. Again great conditions, pace of play was good, it was a fun day, just not my favorite layout.
Course has fun/challenging holes and very decent conditions
The course was in decent condition. Staff in pro shop very courteous and friendly. HOWEVER, the starter has a huge chip on his shoulder. Not friendly and bit of a jerk! This is my first time playing this year but this guy was the same last year so it was not just a bad day. If the guy does not like his job then he should quit!
Thank you for coming out! We look forward to seeing you next time! Our Superintendent appreciates the kind words!
