Roses Run Country Club
About
Roses Run Country Club is touted as being northeast Ohio's toughest public golf course. The course has an interesting mix of holes from lengthy par 4s to tough par 3s and reachable par 5s. The front nine is a traditional links layout while the back nine hugs the Cuyahoga River with winding fairways that melt into fast, sloping greens. The layout incorporates a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic. There are also water hazards and strategically placed bunkers coming into play throughout. Roses Run Country Club will require some creative shot-making and the use of every club in your bag. It's a formidable layout that will test even the most skilled players. There is a driving range and practice putting green you can use for warming up, which might be a good idea before taking on this tough course.

Nice course, horrible slow play.
The course is in nice shape for the most part. There are a few quirky holes on the back nine but otherwise a nice enough course. Maybe a touch on the high side as far as price goes. The pace of play was horrific. Our tee time was at 10:04. We ended up leaving on the 16th hole, 5 hours and 45 minutes into the round. I understand a 5 hour round on the weekend but this was ridiculous. When the group in front of ours called into the clubhouse they sent out the cart girl.

Pace of play
It took almost 5 1/2 hours to get through the 18 holes. No rangers watching groups playing multiple shots or jumping holes
What a fun layout
This was my first time playing here, but it will definitely not be my last. Even though it isn't a long track, it does require you to hit the ball well to score. Overall a super fun course that was in phenomenal shape, and friendly staff is always a welcoming experience as well!
Corse not GolfNow friendly!
We got rained out at the turn. Course was very difficult to work with after paying via GolfNow. They refused to offer a 9 hole rain-check, even after they made us deliver a receipt. Kudos to GolfNow, they made us whole.

Early Father's Day Outing
The experience was great. The green seemed too different quite a bit coming around the turn. Overall, great early father's day event.
Just “okay”
You definitely need a cart for this course! Some of the holes are very spread out and make it nearly impossible to walk. The carts themselves are tough to work the brakes; I finally gave up jumping from cart to cart trying to find one with good brakes and had to stop my cart on flat ground throughout the course. Some of the holes are not marked well on the back nine, so you may be aiming for the wrong hole if you haven’t played there before.
I’ve played this course at least three times but probably won’t play it again.

Great course
June 2024, this course was a blast, very challenging. The greens are brutal in a good way. We had a blast! I’ve never played here so I don’t know what it used to be, but coming from Youngstown, it was worth the drive!
Best I’ve seen the course
Absolutely the best the course has been in recent times. Greens were excellent and course was well mowed.
They do have a goose problem and resulting droppings, but many places suffer from this also. Pace of play was great…played the back first, so I avoided a large group of slow players.
The Goose is Loose
Roses Run is one of my favorite courses around. It's always in great shape and has some of the coolest hole designs I've ever played. While I've never had issues with the pace of play, I've heard how it can get backed up like a county fair porta-potty. The only issue today was the number of geese "laying some bricks" all over the greens. One might say they were putting gravity to good use. Nonetheless, Roses Run is always a treat to play. Will definitely be back!
