Awesome Place
I love this course so much. It has difficulty for all skill levels but open and long enough to allow you to attempt to crush the ball far.
They offer a really good twilight rate and treat all guests like members. It took me a couple years but i pulled the trigger recently and do not regret it one bit.
Course is in great shape and the staff is friendly. Give it a shot!
Slow play
We had a group of 6 people and a group 5 people ahead of us. I never saw a course allow this. The pace of play was terrible. Our group will never return.
Nicest greens i've ever played
I had an absolute blast playing golf with my buddy at Wiltwyck. A foursome let the two of us pass and we paired up with a single who happened to be a member. His name was rich and he was a pleasant man. The course had the best greens I have ever played. They rolled very true. The only greens that come close in the area are the links at union vale. The tee boxes and fairways were well kept and we got to hit range balls before the round for no additional cost. The course was beautiful. They layout was good. Some holes were similar. Pretty open off the tee so you don't need to hit anything other than driver off the tee on most holes. I loved this course and can't wait to go back. BEST GREENS AROUND(even better than Bethpage black!!!)
Nice, good atmosphere, but a little boaring
It was a wet week, so I don't blame the course for being somewhat muddy and the balls not being bouncing. I know other Trent Jones courses which are better, Casperkill b. e. because they offer different challenges. The holes at Wiltwyck are all somehow the same type. Not easy at all, but everything goes into the same direction. I will give it another try because the folks there are very inviting.
Great course
My wife and I stopped in to get a round in and it was fantastic!!!
Wiltwyck GC Review
While course itself was layed out well and challenging, several issues with going around course:
1.Lack of golf ettiquettevby one particular slow 4some not letting faster groups play thru.
2.No course marshals to ensure help and speed pace of play.
3.Difficult to find some holes/tees as markings not consistent, some signs and some path marks.
4.No hole layout signs at tees to give guide as to how hole plays tee to green.
Nice course
Second time playing this course and really enjoyed myself again. It’s chalkenging (tight) with accuracy a must. Plays longer than it’s listed because of uphill shots. Staff is the friendliest that I’ve experienced in the Hudson valley and it’s not close. Has a great time and I will play there again.
really tough if the big dog has a stomach issue
it will be a long day if you are driving it all over the map. need to get back when im driving it better. I think the course is gettable but you need to keep it in play. everything was really above average. very good experience and well worth the 90 minute drive.
Our round at Wiltwyck
A Challenging and scenic course, well drained even after heavy rains.
Great day of golf!
Upon arriving, we were treated like lifelong members. Staff couldn't say thank you enough, and they were extremely accommodating. once a bougie private club, they have opened their doors to the public and we hope it works out for them as this is an excellent, challenging layout with great conditions tee to green. 9th hole could actually be a par 5 if they could move their tees back 40 or 50 yards...as this is a nasty par 4...other than that, grounds staff may need a few gentle reminders regarding water in the ball washers, but overall, we will be back a couple times this season.
I'll be baaaacccckkkk....!
Great place to play. Staff great. Course great.
I will be back.
A great day of golf!!
The course was beautifully manicured. The holes are long and challenging. The staff was very helpful, professional and friendly. It was our first time playing this course and we would return.
CC experience
Wow. Amazing day at Wiltwyck. First experience and not the last. Luke the pro was welcoming and made us feel right at home. Excellent conditioning from tee to green. Thanks to the entire staff and crew.
Too bad it's closing
Word is that the course/clubhouse is up for sale after season ends in a few days. A shame, nice conditions and layout.
Last round at a once great course
This was once the preeminent course in our area. That is no longer the case since this was likely one of the last rounds played at this Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed course. Greens were still outstanding, however since the course is closing for good, it was not as pristine as it used to be.
PLAY THIS GEM!
Excellent course. Very challenging bring your A game. Greens and tee boxes were in great shape. Rough was deep and punishing. Make a trip and play this course. Better hurry rumor is this course may be a goner. A true upstate gem!
Great Conditions and layout
Friends recommended this course after winning a round in a scramble so I took them back with a great deal at 9:06am. Had no one in front of us and nobody in back... Had a great time even if I did not play that will. Gentleman in the Pro shop was the only one working and seemed like he was a bit unsure of how to use credit card machine and Friend needed to go out back to get a cart.. We all enjoyed the course... Short par 3's, very long Par 4's...
Nice Place
Very nice golf course. Long holes, nice fairways and greens. 4 different color tee locations: Red, White, blue and Black. Def will go back.
