New Paltz Golf Course

I've been playing here for 15 years and the condition of this course continues to deteriorate while the rates continue to go up. There is no distinction between the fairways and the rough, as most of it is kept the same length and filled with crabgrass, clover, dirt and other weeds. Greens are slow and a few greens--especially number 6--are in terrible condition. The grass in the tee boxes is also way too long.

This course desperately needs someone who will take care of it because it is a good layout and should be something New Paltz can be proud of. The only reason I ever play here is that it's convenient, but there are nicer courses in the area that are a better value.

Cow farms are in better shape. No fairway cut. Everything was cut one length….rough length. Greens diseased. Traps filled with weeds and not raked.

I came to play nine holes a day after some decent rain. I planned to walk, but got a cart last minute and I'm so glad I did. It was a bright and sunny day, but much of the grass was very soupy and my shoes got mud all over them. Even in a cart though, course conditions were still an issue. The cart path was full of pot holes so it was a very bumpy ride.

Aside from that, the pace of play was excellent and it was a great length for a 9 hole course.

The woman at the check in desk was very short with me and overall was unpleasant.

If the course was dry, the walking price might've been worth it, but that's relative to the overpriced competition.

Also for what it's worth, they charged an $11 fee for a rider. The cart itself was $12 and they weren't pairing up golfers at the time, so that fee was kind of ridiculous.

I went here for the first time in April and was happy with the value of course for the price. Just went back in June and was blown away. I wrote it off too soon, this courses conditions were incredible and for the price i don’t think you can do much better.

No fairways to be found. . Tee boxes are non existent, only decent part were the greens
