Hidden gem in High Falls, NY!
Great little hidden gem in nice remote and historic part of the Hudson valley. Great views, little cottages surround the course and creek runs along it as well. Owner greeted me and made me feel welcome! He is doing some great improvements to the course and look forward to going back more after my most recent visit!! Has a great mix of challenging holes which you will be sure to be well tested! Highly recommend!! The shop dog was my great and was super friendly as well!!
Worse Conditioned Course I’ve ever played
I used to play this course once a week for many years up until a few years ago. They used to have a nice well run restaurant inside. (High Falls Cafe). When I played it a few weeks ago it was a disaster as was the restaurant since High Falls Cafe moved out
Most of the greens were mud cakes and the fairways were rock hard. I always thought the layout was good as is the scenery from the course. It seems since I stopped playing there they spend a massive amount of time trying to change the place and lost sight that the number one priority of any golf course is the greens, then the fairways, not making changes. Make changes once those are perfect.
For the restaurant, why change something that is working for a now empty restaurant.
Making change for change sake is often how restaurants and golf courses die.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Course was in AWFUL shape. At least 6 greens were unplayable. Huge spots all over them with literally no grass. Tee boxes were weeds. I played course last fall and it was in good shape. Very sad course is a nice layout. Close the greens, fix them NOW! Right now I wouldn't play there if you payed me!
Great course
Enjoy the course a lot we played 3 times in 1 week. Love the diversity of the holes. 5, 4, and 2 3’s.
Great value course with plenty of scenery and distance
Had a great time playing early morning at Stone Dock. Was able to grab an early weekend tee time the day before and was very impressed by the scenery and the course. Moderate difficulty with plenty of yardage playing one in from the tips. I was surprised with just how much wildlife and activity was going on, which the owners told me was due to their all-natural course treatment system they've developed. The owners are wonderful people and were delightful people to talk to about the course. I played there about a month ago in early May when the course was in great conditions. I'll definitely stop by again soon, thank you for hosting me!
Shawn
Really nice course with some challenging holes. Very good condition and staff are improving conditions and a pleasure to speak to about anything. Will definitely revisit.

Finally getting the reviews they deserve!
This course was bogged down in review pergatory saddled with the poor reviews of the previous ownership. GolfNow has finally purged those reviews and the rating is climbing,
Challenging course and wonderful home cooked food in the bar. Ask for Steve!
This course continues to improve
A challenging course with new owners who really care... Water holes, doglegs, sand.
The fairways are greaty improved. The greens are excellent!
Better, BETTER.B E S T
The improvements over just a few weeks has been amszing.
The maintenence. upkeep, amd difficulty of the course must be maintained. but the current staff bust the new staff is doing terifically well!
Low Reviews Because of Prior Ownership!
Last time I played I gave this course 3 stars. I was alarmed that it was at that time a 1 star course. I was informed that Golf Now, upon their reopening under new ownership. retained the horable reviews from the previous ownership. I have already reached out to Golf Now to amend this!
I have raised my review to 5 stars because ALL the problems (too tall fairways and sandy tee boxes) were resolved!!!
Its now a 5 star course. Challenging and beautiful!
Disregard the low stars! PLAY THIS COURSE!
And the food in the bar is homemade and truly amazing... and very affordable!
Improving. Will be a four star in a year
I went to the course despite the few stars the course gets. The big issue at the moment is that the fairways are too high.
I had a long chat with the wonderful prorietor, Steve, and the owner, Francis. Both terrific guys. I learned that Francis bought the course two years ago. He is making steady improvements and working diligently to weed out the crab grass and make the fairways better than ever. I think in a year this course will become a 4 star course and eventually 5 star.
Tuesdays and Fridays they serve a very inexpensive buffet styled meal. I had a fanatstic eggplant parmigian with pesto penne and salad. Incredibly welcoming place and has its loyal local regular players.
Bad
Course gone downhill. Conditions are horrible. Staff is not good. New owners ruined this place.
