Gleneagles Golf Club
About
Gleneagles Golf Club, which is owned by the city of Twinsburg, is ranked as one of the area's top 15 most challenging courses, though, it is more player friendly than it seems. Beginners won't feel too out of place but accuracy is needed on this course with water coming into play on 11 holes and more than 20 strategically placed bunkers. The water hazards are particularly tricky. The fairways are lush and manicured and the well maintained greens putt fast and true. There are also some significant elevation changes throughout the golf course. A smattering of trees dots the landscape but most of the holes are wide open. It is a good challenge without being too intimidating. In addition to the course, Gleneagles Golf Club offers a driving range and putting green for golfers to warm up before their tee time.

Favorite course in NEO
I played this course a few days in a row because it's outstanding. Beautiful range, new carts, a beautiful clubhouse and a friendly staff. The fairways are tight, rough is dense but cut down , the greens are sloped and tough but a fun test. The course isn't easy, but is in great shape and gives you a good challenge. I love coming out to this course, and think it's one of the best in the area. Id recommend coming out, has a very good golf atmosphere. Only downside is pace of play could get slower at times, but love to call this course gome.
Average golfers stay away
Tight fairways, lots of water, trees, OB, and extremely sloped greens etc...Little sand in bunkers made it even more difficult. Back 9 much more difficult than the front.
Fairways Much Improved
Very impressed with the turnaround from the last time we played here. Most of the bald patches and uneven grass (mainly in the back 9) are gone. Still no rangers and pace of play a little slow but not as bad as last time. Will come back if get a good rate on G Now.
I played this course as part of a golf trip to/around the Cleveland area in late May 2023. This course was included on our itinerary based on its listing as a Top Course by Golf Advisor.
PACE: It was a packed Friday afternoon. It was slow, but it was also nice having an afternoon out in the sun.
CONDITIONS: Everything was good. Tees and fairways were well kept. Greens were tougher because of their undulations that their speed. Bunkers were good.
STAFF: Pro shop and cart girl were friendly and helpful.
VALUE: I felt the greens fee was a fair price to walk on a Friday afternoon.
LAYOUT: Played the Blue tees (5,900). Given another round, I would have played the Gray (6,400). The course was starting on #10 this day, which at first seemed to make sense as the practice putting green and driving range are adjacent to the #10 tee. I did learned that the back 9 (my first 9) is more tight/tree-lined than the front 9 (my second 9). It seemed to play as a "score on the front, and hold-on on the back" kind of course. It is a fun track, and you can walk this course.
Poor Fairways and Pace of Play
I used to play here before the new clubhouse and always enjoyed the course conditions and pace of play. I have played here twice this year and in both instances the pace of play by groups in front of us were unacceptable. There are no rangers and when I called in the interaction with one was disappointing to say the least. Karen or Cara at the pro shop first told me that the ranger is not available as he is golfing. The second ranger, Clayton was much more empathetic but he showed up on the 17th. hole.
The greens and the area around the greens are just fine. However, the fairways have all kinds of grass that makes it bumpy. It simply needs to be cut at the same level as the areas around the greens. For the price you can go to many other courses. I like the layout and the greens but will not return.
Try the Burgers Tuesday’s
Fantastic Greens, and well managed pace of play. Tuesday $8 Burger Special is worth the trip, all by itself.
Fantastic Course
This day started with Friendly, Cheerful welcomes from everyone we encountered, and was capped off by Fantastic Conditions, Pace of Play, and Staff Presence on the course.
These folks know what they’re doing!
A model for how to manage a full tee sheet.
Well done
We WILL Definitely be back soon!
Cheers
Really nice course and facility
Course was in really good shape. Has a great club house. Greens had been punched but were still running smooth and fast. Gets a lil busy. Only negative was none of the phone chargers worked in the 3 carts that we had.
Cold windy day
It was cold and windy but the course was in good shape. Aside from losing a few balls that got plugged in wet spots and between all the leaves, it was a good day. Greens were punched a few weeks ago by my estimation but have recovered nicely. They were rolling really well.
