Grantwood Golf Course

About
Grantwood Golf Course is one of the best golf values in the greater Cleveland area. The course sits next to Timberlake Recreation Park, a scenic park with a large fishing lake and picnic areas that are perfect for outdoor gatherings. The layout features small, undulating greens that are protected by more than 40 strategically placed bunkers. Water also comes into play on 10 holes in the form of a meandering creek and several ponds. The golf course is a challenging-but-fair test for players of all skill levels. Beginners and high handicappers won't be intimidated by long forced carries and won't have to worry about losing balls on every hole. Grantwood Golf Course sprawls across gently rolling terrain and the tees are in close proximity, making this a perfect layout for walking.

Good value for the buck
The course had some nice, interesting holes, but the pace of play was slow; 2:30 for 9 holes. However, it was a holiday; we had a group in front of us that were beginners, with one maybe a first timer. The ranger did a good job in keeping them close to pace.
Beat Up Tees
The course was in average condition at best. The tee boxes were all torn up, and the greens were VERY fuzzy.
Great Day at the Grantwood
It was a great day from when we checked in at the pro shop to the dogs at the turn. Pace of play was great and the course is in good condition!
Challenging but fair
I like playing Grantwood because it is only 3 miles from my house and while some holes are challenging to get par, it fair and has mostly open spaces so less chance of losing a ball
Terrible course.
Truly the worst managed course in NEO. I've golfed hundreds of times at several golf courses across NEO and grantwood has by far the worst staff, management of the golf course, and pace of play I've ever had. Countless times I have booked tee times for 18 holes, and when I arrive they tell me we can't play 18 and some times won't even let us play 9. Most of the staff members are not nice whatsoever, they don't make you want to come back and play. The pace of play is truly atrocious. Almost every time I play at Grantwood the pace of play is extremely slow. Overall bad golf course, wouldn't recommend to anyone trying to enjoy themselves on the course.
Great value for a solid well designed course...
Got a last minute tee time early in the morning and was paired up with an extremely nice man and wife.
The course was well maintained and is a very solid public course. The greens were well maintained. The layout is unique as trips underneath an old railroad track make you feel like you are playing two different layouts on each 9.
Improvements for 2025
The biggest improvement at Grantwood in 2025 is new golf carts. The old ones were in sore need of replacement. The clubhouse is well appointed. The staff person working the desk was really nice. Greens are OK as to condition and the fairways and rough were in pretty good shape. I was paired up with another single and we finished the round in four hours without much of a wait behind the group in front of us. The course is a little tricky with hazards and you would benefit from having your own GPS.
