Great course for a Great price
I booked our 4 some for a Sunday afternoon, the price was great and the course, the staff and everything related to our day was GREAT. Can't wait to go back again to Copper Top/ Cherokee Hills Golf Course!
Cart path only, but aren't they all lately?
Greens were a little lumpy where people hadn't fixed their divots. Course is fun to play. We play there a couple of times each year.
Good Place to Play Using Golf Now
I would only recommend this course if you get the Golf Now discount. Otherwise, its $38.00. Way over priced for the course. Staff makes you feel like they are doing you a favor by letting you play there. Pace of play the day we played was brutal. Had to call the ranger for the 2 groups ahead of us. He took forever to get there. I hope others have a better time than we did. This is my first bad review of a course.
Challenging Course
Cherokee Hills is challenging. Course upkeep is good. I liked it....
On cart GPS is a nice feature
Play was slower due to the holiday. The course was in good conditions. Greens were a bit long and somewhat slow.
Tricky course.
I usually shoot 10-20 over par without cheating. I found this course pretty challenging. There is always a bunker or a water hazard somewhere. Only about three holes are straight away with no hazards. The greens are pretty much all shaped like a dome. So they are hard to stay on. Very nice maintained course but not pristine. There was an outing before my tee time of 222pm and the pins where all placed pretty much in the hardest spots you can put them. It was very fun and i love a challenge, I shot a 101. If you are a beginner you should probably save yourself some golf balls and pass this one by.
"CART PATH ONLY Coppertop"
We had gift certificates for this course. Everytime we called for a tee time we were told that it was cart path only including one week before we finally played. The course was very hard and your ball would roll forever especially in the rough where on multiple occasions I had balls roll until they rolled right into the woods. How a course can be cart path one week and a week later be that hard is beyond my comprehension. Also if I am paying for a cart with GPS, knowing the distance on the cart path does me little good if my ball is on the other side of the hole, especially since there are few other distance markings on the course as they pretty much depend on the GPS for distance markings. The course is very scenic and hilly. We played on a Monday and the cups had not been changed since before the weekend as the edges were worn out and growing over. Overall conditions were acceptable. There are a number of forced carries. We played the front nine much quicker than the back as there was a foursome two groups ahead of us who were in no hurry and would not let the twosome in front of us thru. We found this out from that twosome as we had many opportunities to talk as we waited on this foursome.
Provides for a pleasant round of golf
Although a shorter course (par 70), several of the holes play longer than they appear. Course was in great shape. You need to hit them straight, or your score will suffer.
1ST TIME PLAYING. GOOD LAYOUT. WOULD PLAY AGAIN
Course was wet from rain off & on all day. Cart paths only. Greens were long but playable. Putting speed was medium with some greens faster than others. Nice large greens with an occasional small green to change the pace. Very playable course for all handicaps. Will be back to play again.
You have to have very good course management.
The course requires you to think about many of your shots and ball placement for your next shot. Challenging greens that if you are not in proper place you will make the hole very difficult for yourself. Very nice course with great views from many of the holes on the course.
Fun course, moderately challenging
Course was in very nice condition, just enough challenge to make it fun, I'll definitely go back
Coppertop great course for the money!
Beautiful course, fast well manicured greens, and GPS carts! All for a great price!
Top notch medina course
The course is always in great condition. I have played there at first open of season...during the prime time of season...and at the close of our golf year and each time it always look like its tournament ready. Its a fun course with some challenging uphill shots and an over the water par 3 with a giant green. They have gps carts that are always right on. Those reasons are just a few that this course is always a favorite to play. I make sure im there a minimum of 3 times per year. Never disappointed to play there.
Very Challenging
The course is great for the money.! They have GPS on their golf carts, they are electric so they arent loud, and they are fast! It is very challenging and every hole I was using a different club. I did not see one brown spot on the course cause they keep it well maintained. I did lose alot of balls though, but I think that was mostly my fault..
Poor layout
I wouldn't play this course again even if it was free! Visibility is little to none on most holes and the tee boxes are almost right next to the green on the previous hole. I'm not a picky golfer and don't need a perfect course but I would rather play little met which is not a five star course over this place. The value is ok and you get a cart with GPS but I actually found that more annoying. The staff in the clubhouse was very nice. I would NOT recommend this course for anyone ever!
Nice Course
Really friendly staff and I enjoyed the layout of the course. It had recently rained and it was cart paths only. However, the course didn't seem that wet to me. Biggest disappointment was the greens, to me it appeared that they didn't mow them and this was a Saturday., so they were extremely slow.
Other than that I don't have a bad thing to say, lots of fun shots and some really unique holes. I will be back, as long as the greens are taken care of.
Greens are in great shape
Overall this course is maintained and the greens are really good. Lots of short holes but the greens are very difficult with slopes and false fronts on many of them.
Nice public course
Always enjoyed Coppertop. GPS on carts is a invaluable feature, I wish all courses had them.
What a great place..
